Hi kids and parents, it's technesday and my writing expedition day 3. Let's get started, by looking at The Technology Of Screens.....
The technology of screens and moving pictures has really advanced leading to the production of many different, visual products. Screens are now parts of our everyday lives. From your phone to the TV to the dashboard of cars and even digital billboards. Too much of everything has a consequence so does staring at a screen for a long time ....let's analyse this today, please ride with me.
What's Screen Time? |
---|
Screen time is the amount of time a person spends using devices with screens, like computers, smartphones, tablets, and TVs.
Experts suggest that younger kids should spend like 1-2 hours of screen time per day, while older kids can spend up to 3-4 hours.
As a parent too, you have to also be moderate. After all you won't want to act like the biblical hypocrite who wants to cast a speck out of his neighbours eyes without first removing the beam of his eyes.
Consequences of Excessive Screen Time |

Like I said earlier too much of everything is a problem. Here are some of the consequences:
Poor sleep quality:most kids stay glued to their TVs and even handset almost all night neglecting their precious sleep, which their body needs. This is a big issue as it can lead to other health issues like insomnia, obesity, fatigue and many other diseases caused by lack of rest and sleep.
Social Isolation: human beings are naturally social animals, so staying couped up in a room all day fiddling with ones device and stating at screen doesn't help in the least to expose one socially and help in human to human interaction. We are not bot's for god sake.
Obesity: especially, those that do not exercise regularly, staying at one place, doing one thing for long period of time without flexing one's self is as good as sending a cordial invitation card to obesity.
Vision and attention problems: the screen emits light, staring at them for long periods of time disrupts the eye and can result in severe eye problems. Inability to focus on the physical world is also one of the problems of excessive screen time.
Managing Screen Time |
---|
They are many things and features that helps to reduce screen time.
Our phones for example has a setting that allows us to set out screen time and manage screen brightness.
Parents can help their kids achieve this by setting firm rules and boundaries on screen time.
Participating in activities that don't involve screens staring, like sports, reading, or playing outside.
Parents should lead by example by being mindful of their own screen time and making sure they're not spending too much time on their devices.
Conclusion |
---|
Let's not let our screen technology overwhelm us. We are greater than that, go out socialize and be the best you can be.
Cheers lovely Steemkids,
Cheers brilliant parents,
Remember, I love y'all
Adiós
