Hi kids and parents...
Happy new week.
It's health hour.
Despite beings neglected by most people, one of the most important organ in our body is definitely our teeth. Hey you want to know why, imagine losing all your teeth. You won’t be able to chew the flesh of that crispy chicken nor take a bite of that your most loved sandwich. The feeling is horrible isn’t it?

THE TEETH

The human teeth is located inside the humans mouth (lolz everyone knows that). It is divided into the upper and lower sections and compromises of four sets (premolar, molar, and incisors, canine) evenly distributed inside the mouth.

A child has about 20 tooth's most of which break off as the child grow. You probably might have experienced this if you are above 7. Well if you haven’t yet as a kid or you know someone who hasn't, don’t be scared as your old teeth are wearing off to bring brand new better and stronger ones. The children teeth are known as milk or primary teeth.

The adult has about 32 teeth which are known as permanent teeth. A loss of this one either through fights or injuries leaves a permanent gap on your gums. That’s why we should stay away from fights or another events or circumstance that would lead to the loss of teeth’s.

  • Regular visit to the dentist: A lot of fuss is made when kids are told “let’s go see the dentist,” well this should not be so. Visiting the dentist regularly to check on your teeth is very helpful as tooth problems are detected on time and fixed as soon as possible.
  • Flossing regularly: when you eat, tiny particles are left in between your teeth build up of this food particles and bacteria causes a substance known as “Plaque” or “Tatars” to form on the teeth. Flossing helps to get this out.
  • Brushing regularly Brushing at least three times daily with an appropriate toothpaste helps to keep the teeths healthy and strong. and remember to change your toothbrush at least every 3 - 6 month.
  • Eat Foods Rich in Calcium: calcium is a very important mineral that helps in the development of the teeth and bones. It can be taken as drugs but food substances such as brisket bones, certain part of meats, milk, certain beverages all contain calcium which is very beneficial and more cost effective than drugs.
  • Do not put sharp object in your Mouth: This may lead to injury and eventually gum infection, which is something we won't want.
CONCLUSION

Taking good care of your teeth is paramount. Hope you learnt a lot. What do you think, I will gladly appreciate your comments and contributions. Till then.

Brushing of the teeth is the most common care given to the teeth, I think this is as a result of the environment one is born into. People are gradually opening up to flossing and visit to a dentist.
