Introduction

No gree for anybody

drawing is a form of art which helps an artist express his emotions, thoughts and desires.

Today, I wish to convey a message using a drawing. Ride along with me

The idea behind my drawing

In Nigeria this year, a particular phrase has trended and this phrase seems to be the motto of the year, any social media with Nigerians can prove this fact. This phrase is captioned - "no gree for anybody".

The picture above seems to fall in line with that theme. Yes!!! It is exactly what you're thinking, the cockerel refuses to be oppressed by a woman despite his small stature and size.

The cockerel tries hard to proves that he is no way inferior to the woman in the picture, this is represented by him flaunting his cart containing his many babies(eggs) as opposed to the woman who just has a baby.

The woman in this picture is shocked her facial expression and thoughts do not deny this fact and in order to not let the cockerel overtake her increases her speed, this is evident in her long strides.

Different people interpretes an image in different ways, How about you? What do you see in the image, and how would you interpret it?

Materials used

• Plain A5 paper
• A ball point pen

Steps taken

First came the woman's head, and her facial features.

Step 1: The woman's head

Next I drew her chest and arms, making up her torso

Step 2: The woman's Torso

I completed the woman's body structure and set my pen in motion for the cart.

Step 3: The woman's Lower body

I completed the baby carrier and set out for the next step.

Step 4: Her baby carrier

Next comes the cockerel as I draw his head trying to make sure I capture the fine details of his head.

I drew the Cockerels body, fine tuned the details on it head and added the cart carrying it babies.

And I looked at my work and saw it was good 😅

I then began to add finishing touches and shade where I deem fit. This I believe would bring out a bit of essence in the picture.

Don't think you will oppress me. The cockerel says, the woman's surprise is also captured with the word - huh

Conclusion

Drawn with love and as a special motivation to myself and others not to give up and feel oppressed but to work with firm steps steadily to the top.
