Greetings steemians, I want to start by saying Thank you to @moyeon for organizing this wonderful contest which is very helpful in helping us know and understand the health benefits of milk.

Milk is a fluid, rich in nutrients which is produced by female mammals to feed their young ones.
Milk is rich is the cheapest and richest source of calcium, protein, phosphorus and Vitamin A

Milk is called complete food" Do you agree with this and why ?

Yes, I do agree that milk is a complete food and this is because milk contains protein, carbohydrates, fats ,vitamins and other minerals that are essential for maintaining good health.
If we say that a complete food is one that contains all the essential nutrients required by the body, then we can boldly say milk is a complete food since it contains all these nutrients especially protein and calcium.

Is milk important for humans ?

Yes, milk is very important to human to humans, it is the best source of calcium which is essential for strong bones and teeth formation especially in children. So if you don't want your kids to grow with weak bones and teeth, then you have to give them the required amount of milk.
Milk also serve as body building food as it contain high amount of protein.
So from the young to the elderly ones, milk is very important.

What happens if you don't drink sufficient milk in initial phases of your life ?

There are many of negative outcome of not drinking sufficient milk in the initial phase of your life. Some of these negative outcome include:

  1. Milk contains protein, calcium, phosphorus and potassium which is necessary to maintain strong and healthy bones, therefore, if you don't take in sufficient milk in the initial phase of your life, you will have weak and unhealthy bones.

  2. Milk also provides energy for children meaning without sufficient milk, you are likely to lack the energy you should have while growing up.

  3. Apart from being rich in protein, milk is also rich is saturated fats. The protein helps to build the muscles while the saturated fats help to prevent the muscles from being used for energy which helps to keep a healthy muscle. Therefore, if there insufficient intake of milk at the initial stage of your life, you will grow with a weak muscles and low energy to carry out your daily activities.

How to know if one is lactose intolerant and what alternatives can they opt for?

Lactose intolerance also called lactose malabsorption is when body cannot fully digest lactose which is because of too small lactase in the small intestine to act on the lactose being taken in. As a result of this, when ever people with lactose malabsorption take in dairy products they have diarrhea, bloating, nausea, gas or stomach cramps and these are the symptoms of lactose malabsorption.

Alternative for people that are lactose intolerant include: oat milk, coconut milk, yoghurt, fermented cheese and soya milk. These contain little or not lactose unlike the regular cow and goat milk.
