Good day, dear Steemians, It's another beautiful time. Today I will be participating in a contest organized by @ngoenyi with the topic: "Help The Kids To Develop Their Creativity... Create Something From Nothing". It is about making a paper craft (origami), helping the kids by showing them the creativity behind using paper to make something else without the use of gum, pin, or adhesive.
What is the name of what you have made with paper
The name of the origami I made with paper is called Kite. Kite is a light (lighter than air) frame craft paper that is flown in the wind with a long string at the end of the paper. There is much history related to what the kite stands for, some said it stands for vision, acuity, focus, and skill, some see the kite as a symbol of freedom while some kite in our life as support, care, and help, saying as kite need air to fly so also we need one another help.
Apart from all that, I see the kite as an amusement, it brings excitement, and laughter and it is pleasant for the eye, to watch and see the kite flying higher.
Steps on how you made the craft
Instrument used are;
Step 1
I took one of my used paper, cut some sides making the paper a square (4 equal sides), then I fold the paper into two then unfold it.
Step 2
I folded the upper right side of the paper in a triangle shape making its edge touch half of the paper, I repeat the same procedure for the upper left side.
Step 3
I turned the paper to the other side and folded the triangle shapes on both sides ensuring it touches half of the paper I folded in the first step making another two triangles out of the first triangle, opposite each other.
Step 4
After that, I turned the paper to the first half triangle I made and folded both sides of the bottom of the paper ensuring it touches the middle half of the paper I folded in step 1.
Step 5
Then I placed one edge of the bottom fold inside the other edge so that it can hold itself and not fall apart.
Step 6
After that, I made a small hole with a pencil, put my thread in it, and tightened it so that it would not be removed.
Step 7
Now my kite is ready to fly.
How did you get the idea?
Kite is one of the origami I love to make during my childhood days, I and my siblings love running around with it and competing about whose kite will fly higher, ever since then I had acquired an understanding of how to make it. Seeing the contest today about origami, the first thing that come to my mind is to make origami of a kite and that brought me to making its origami.
How useful is what you have made?
Kite origami is very useful and important to kids as its serves as physical activity (Exercise) because we do run when flying and chasing the kite. Also, it is helpful to the eye, to focus, observe, and monitor the kite movement.
Furthermore, We know kite flying brings happiness which helps in promoting a healthy lifestyle by easing one's stress, reducing pain and sorrow, improving the heart, and boosting the brain.
Which kid did you inspire or do you intend to inspire and help develop the creativity?
I had to teach so many kids how to make a kite during my childhood days. As an adult, sometimes when I traveled home, I do make kite origami for my cousins and my neighbor's children so that they can play with it and all of them loved it so much as they would be running around with it, chasing it with joy and enthusiasm.
Furthermore, I thought two of kids that are ages 7 and 8 how to make it with strict caution that they can only make it with used paper that is not necessary useful again and how they can only play with it when elders are around to watch over them because of security reasons.
Conclusion
Kite Origami is one of the origami I love making and playing with as a child, it gives one joy chasing after it, and even up till today kids still love flying kites. Thank you ma @ngoenyi for bringing this interesting contest, This is where I will be stopping for now. Thank you for reading.
Hello dear @temitopef thanks for taking part in this contest, kite is a nice game I used to play when I was a kid! Continue to be active in our community we appreciate you 💕

Wowww.. I remember when we use to make this kite those days, we use it to travel far distance running with our lags and enjoy seeing the kite flaying, It was fun back then.
You just refresh some old sweet memories, i even forgot the steps on how to craft the kite but you just reminded me. My own do look like 🚁 HELICOPTER those days while yours look like PRIVATE JET, I guess mine in those days is 1980 Model while yours is 2022 model 😁 (smile).

Your comment about helicopter and private jet of 1980 and 2022 got me laughing so hard.

I have not seen this around me in ages (well, I see them in movies once in a while) but your article has brought this closer to me and reminded me of how we spent our childhood.
Kite is one of the very interesting stuff we play with during those days, it's an amazing piece of toy that brings genuine happiness. As I highlighted earlier, it's been quite some time since I see it, I will be glad to see kids around my area playing with this anytime soon, it would be a pleasure to watch them being joyous while flying it.
You have shared a genuine craft for kids and I wish you the best in the contest, @temitopef.
