Update #97: Writing Expedition ✍️, Have Fun while Writing! Choose From Varieties Of Topics
Hello my steemian friends,
This is my participation in the contest” Update #97: Writing Campaign ✍️, Have Fun While Writing! Choose from a Variety of Topics by @steemkidss at Steem Kids & Parents
It's Thursday today so I decided to write a story,
Just two days ago I had come to Sydney for some business work. Today when I had come to the market from my hotel room for some work, when I left for my destination, there was no possibility of rain. But as soon as I reached there, the city was covered with thick clouds and it started raining heavily.
It was probably a rainy evening in Sydney city and then I entered a small restaurant. The rain had come suddenly, due to which my clothes got wet and I ran to hide. I immediately sighed shaking the drops from my clothes and shoes and then ordered hot tea to the waiter standing there.
The restaurant was warm, cozy and almost empty, except for a young man sitting near the window, he was slightly engrossed in a magazine and perhaps he too was waiting for the rain to stop.
As soon as I saw the man sitting near the counter, he gave me a polite smile. I felt that he was somewhat familiar, but I could not recognize him properly. I sipped my tea, hoping the rain would stop any minute.
The man looked at me closely and said, "Crazy weather, isn't it?", he asked as he closed his book. His eyes were trying to recognize me.
"Yes, it is a matter of great surprise in this Sydney city," I said laughing.
As our eyes met, he leaned towards me a little and said, "You look familiar. Have we met before?" he asked.
I looked at his face again and he looked like my childhood friend Pankaj.
Oh... my God! Then, I said, "Wait a second... you are Pankaj, right? Pankaj Srivastav?"
His eyes widened "Oh, are you Surya, my childhood classmate?"
We both laughed in excitement. "I couldn't believe it!
Pankaj came to me on my seat and smiled "I still remember how you always used to beat me in carrom during the school lunch break.
We spent the next two hours talking to each other and sharing stories of our university days, careers, our old dreams. Both of us friends wanted to become engineers in future and I had become one, I just didn't know it.
Then as the rain started to slow down, Pankaj said, "You know... maybe it wasn't just coincidence that brought us here today."
"But Pankaj what are you doing here, you fell in love with Ragini and wanted to settle down with her in India" And what happened to Ragini.? Do you live here in Sydney?
Then Pankaj told me that "7 years ago on a Valentine's Day my life changed. He told me that "I was waiting for my friend whom I loved from the heart in a park and wanted to propose her by giving her flowers, but in the same park I saw Ragini talking romantically with a very rich boy.
"My heart was broken and I came here to Sydney for further studies and I did MBA and got married to an Australian girl. I work in a multinational bank here and my wife also works in the same bank. " Now we have 2 children too, I have now completely forgotten Ragini.
Surya how did you come here" I told him that I am a software engineer and I have come here for my personal business.
"Come on brother, let's go home and stay there, don't go to the hotel now." Pankaj said very affectionately. We will talk a lot after going there.
And I left from there and reached his house with him. His wife and two lovely children welcomed me.
I also want to invite here @haidee, @soloprez and @josepha
