I want to participate in "Love your parents" contest organized by @afrinn which the title alone portrays a whole lot. I really love participating in intriguing contest and this happens to be one it

Introduction

Parents play vital and essential rules in the life's of their wards which naturally in due time, the wards will definitely reciprocate at the stage were there is a change of power where the parents becomes the children and the children becomes the parents.
That is life, at adulthood the parent are retired and not able to carry out certain task, so it's in the children's place to stand in for the parents rendering all the help and assistance they can. There is no reason why parent should not be loved, if not for any other thing but for their selfless efforts towards grooming their children towards become outstanding and independent in life.

In accordance with the contest rules, I will give answers to the questions below:

How do parents influence our lives?

Looking at it critically, you'll agree with me that apart from God the creator, life begins from parent because they are the ones who mates, conceives and brings up offsprings.
Same parents are the ones who see to and provide the necessary needs and wants of the children from infancy till adolescence and sometimes adulthood.
Parents acts as the first educators and tutors to their children. Socialization which begins from the family also commemorates the duties and responsibilities of the parents.

What are the responsibilities and duties of parents towards their children?

The responsibilities and duties of parents to their children encompasses all the efforts that they put in training their children physically, emotionally, psychologically and otherwise from childhood till adulthood.
To be distinct, here are some major responsibilities and duties of parents to their children;

1. Parents provides basic needs for their children
2. Protect their children from harm
3. They see to rhe well-being of their children
4. They foster their children's education and personal growth
5. They help distinguish between rights and wrong to their children
6. Parents acts as role models to their children
7. Teach their children good ethics
8. Engage in open and direct conversation with their children towards life challenges
9. Encouraging self esteem
10. They prepare their children for adulthood

How should we behave towards our parents

With all the sacrifices made by our parents, I think every sensible person should know that he or she owes his parents "respect". Let's forget about helping them in future times because no amount of help or money can repay them for all they've done for us
All we owe them is respect because that alone will activate them to do better and also attest that they've groomed out something better, responsible and of good value and conduct to the society.

How has the role of parents changed in today's society?

The role of parents has rapidly changed in today's society in that, in the olden days, parents did not actually see the need of
giving total parental care to their children, enrolling their children in good schools especially the female ones, providing basic needs and lots more. But in today society, following innovations and new realities of life, parents now see the needs to give utmost care, attention and basic needs and wants to their wards.
Most times they compete with other parents so that their children can beat other children and stand out impeccably in the society.

Conclusion

Judging from my end, I have seen the efforts and Sacrifices that my parents have put in and sometimes loosing themselves so that I can become better. Today I can speak out, mingle with people, I've known people, I've been to different places,etc, all these is Courtesy of my parents and to them, I don't really owe them anything apart from me valuing and recognizing their sacrifices, giving them all the love they desire and giving them all the respect the need.
Loving our parents is essential and should be our priorities in life
