Social Studies Lesson: Safety in the home and school

Different people have their understanding of safety, I will go with my own which is staying away or avoiding anything harmful or dangerous to our lives, properties, or even cost the life of our loved ones. My mum always warns me never to run into a fight because of an incident she witnessed, a man was stabbed as a result of that, so each time I see people fight, the thought of my mum's words comes to my mind.

FIVE THINGS WE CAN DO TO MAKE OUR HOMES SAFE

**proper ventilation in the environment to avoid suffocation.
**Always keep sharp objects out of children's reach.
**Wet floors should be cleaned and mopped.
**Proper teaching about care and maintenance of the electric appliance.
**cutting down of grasses when due to avoid snakes and other harmful insects.

CONTROL MEASURES FOR SAFETY IN SCHOOL

**The school should provide a committee on regulating the learner's movement around the sensitive areas, the chemical and computer laboratory, and the dangers involved.
**The school labor days should be held weekly to avoid growing grasses around.
**First aid box should be made available in case of emergency.
