Steemit Engagement Challenge S3-W2: Impacts of Technology in kids' lives by @simonnwigwe

I welcome you all to this week's engagement contest organised here in this wonderful community. This happens to be the second week of the engagement challenge and I'm delighted to be in attendance at the contest today. Today we are looking at the impacts of technology on kids' lives. Technology has made a significant impact on the life of everyone in the world today and the kids are not left out so in this publication I will be discussing this topic via the questions given below.

The world as we can see it is changing on daily basis. What we knew that was used when we were born has completely become obsolete one the years. Day in and day out we see new things coming up all to ensure that we have an easier or better life. In the world, today, countries which see more progress than the others are countries that embrace technology wholeheartedly. Any country that is termed undeveloped is because of the lack of technology in such a country.

Technology is seen already in every aspect of human lives anything at you thinks of in the world today has technology supporting it to function properly. When we look at the spiritual aspects of our lives, we will notice that a lot of people can stay where ever they want and still listen to the word of God via their radio, television or even their phones. Ministers of God now go to any country of their choice within a space of some hours to preach the gospel because of the availability of automobiles I.e cars, aeroplanes etc.

Physically, we have seen technology completely in action in our lives too. For agricultural farmers, we have tractors, chemicals, fertilizers etc that enable our crops to grow more effectively. Before this time everyone concentrates on substantial agriculture which provides food just for himself and his family but with the help of technology today everyone is running to commercial agriculture where they provide food for the whole world. Crops variety is improved and the time of waiting is also reduced.

Aside from this, in every other aspect, you can think of technology has also touched it. Before now the technology level was in a 2 dimension but and improvement to has been made on that. We initial make a call both audio and video as the case may be but today, the technology is moving beyond that. We have seen the use of digital currency on display since the year 2009 now bitcoin and other currencies have gained ground in the world. Metaverse is a new technology which is also the future technology which will impact the world in a very serious way.

Everything that has advantages also has a disadvantage. Positivity stands for the advantages of technology whereas negativity stands for the disadvantages of technology. Here we are going to look at the advantages and disadvantages of technology in a summary. Let's get started.

a- As I have said earlier, technology comes with development hence one of the major advantages of technology is that it helps kids to develop in their learning.

b- With the help of technology, kids can now focus on whatever they are doing with the devices which makes them learn and become experts at no distance time.

c- Technology has also helped kids to meet their kinds all over the world. For instance, a kid is attracted by another kid who does sane things with him. For example, s that play games.

a- Since the use of this device attract much attention, the kids may completely be addicted to the use of this device. Most times can do anything other than using the device.

b- Bad knowledge transmission from the internet is another major problem of technology on kids. A lot of them go as far as watching adult movies and learning what adult people do just because of technology and in the end, they will try to practice it within themselves.

c- Reading, spelling and memorising the article are no longer the routine of children because of the presence of the internet. Once they need anything, they just type and get it on google and this makes them weak when it comes to reading their books.

The impact of technology on the life of kids in my opinion is highly positive. We know that technology aims to make life easier for all mankind. Let's look at steemit for instance, we all are here today because we are searching for a way to live properly. The steem blockchain rewards you for publishing an article on this platform which we all know that it is not the same on another platform. They help to ease the suffering of people and help them to live properly.

Our kids today find learning more interesting because they have everything they need to make the learning very fun. You sit in a class that has AC and see how things are done and you have the practical knowledge because the equipment is made available. You need not go for much research or searching books in the library because we have an E-library which has all the collections and you can access them in a split of seconds. So in essence, to me, technology has impacted positively kids.

Yes, you can have complete control over the exposure of kids to certain technological products. In their schools, their teachers should always teach them the use of important technology and the places or which products should not be put to use. When the kids come home too, they should be properly guided by the parents in the same direction. Parents also must be on watch as regards the activities of their children when using the internet. Always cross-check their activities online like browsing history etc and ensure they are only searching for good knowledge.

The effect of technology on the lives of kids, as well as the world at large, can never be overemphasised. Technology has touched every aspect of our lives and also has impacted positively the lives of our kids. With technology, things are made easier and better.
