Is One Day sufficient to Celebrate Mothers?
Today is an International Mother's Day. It is said that Ana Javis of the United States of America celebrated her first Mother's Day in the second week of May 1908. Later, she battled to make this day a holiday. As a result, in the year 1912, America designated this day as Mother's Day.
Mothers' activities are entirely selfless, and their main goal is the happiness and growth of their children. Mother's Day is a day we thank and appreciate our mothers for their sacrifices. Is it sufficient to reserve one day to honor our mothers?
Our life journey started with our mother. Think a moment, our first room was our mother's womb; our first restaurant was our mother's breast; our first toilet was our mother's lap; our first school was our mother's kitchen; our first teacher our mother; our first doctor our mother; our first vehicle our mother's back; our first thermometer our mother's fingers; our first friend our mother; and our first dresser our mother. The truth is their role is limitless, their devotion is unwavering and their sacrifices are immeasurable. They love us unconditionally from the moment they hold us in their arms.
Is only one day a year should be set aside to honor such great mothers? They are our silent heroes; they dry our tears when we fail and cheer with us when we succeed. They offer us comfort when we need it. Their love has no boundaries, and they shape us as good people by giving us good values.
It is good to reserve a day for their good service. But, remember their love and sacrifices deserve to be honored every day. We should take into consideration every moment we can be grateful to them. It may be a simple gratitude, or spending quality time.
Therefore, instead of limiting our honor to a single day, let’s try to make every day Mother’s Day. Let us care for them every day, feed them well, and ensure that they take their medications on schedule. When you treat your mothers with respect at all times, your children will follow suit. Instead of being your children's counsel, set a good example.
