Hello my steemit friends I hope you are all doing well and enjoying life. Today i am excited to take part in the horror contest i want to share a scary moment from my life that i still remember clearly. It was not a dream. It really happened and i was very afraid at that time.

This story happened about two years ago. It was winter and I had gone to my aunt's house in the village. Her house is old and a little far from the main road. At night the area becomes very quiet. One night I was sleeping in a separate room with one small window i had a little headache so i went to sleep early. The room was dark and i covered myself with a blanket. At around 1 AM i suddenly woke up. I heard the sound of someone knocking on the window. I thought it was the wind so i ignored it. But after a few seconds i heard the knock agai this time louder. I was scared and sat up on the bed i slowly moved the curtain of the window. What i saw made my heart stop.

There was a face outside the window. It looked very strange—pale skin wide eyes and a big smile. I got so scared that i could not move or scream. I quickly jumped off the bed and ran to my aunt’s room. I told her everything. She came with me and checked outside but no one was there.My aunt said maybe someone was playing a trick but the face i saw didn’t look human. It looked like something evil. That night i didn’t sleep again. I stayed in my aunt’s room until morning. After that day i never slept in that room again.

We later found out that many people in the village had also seen strange things near the old house. Some said it was a spirit that lived near the tree behind the house. Others said it was just fear and imagination. But I know what I saw and i can never forget that face. Many people ask me “Was it just a dream?” i always say “No it was real.” I was awake and i clearly remember everything. It was the scariest night of my life.
