Introduction
Happy new month friends, am glad the year is moving rapidly, just now we are in the month of May, happy workers day as well. I will be participating in this food challenge for the first time in steemkids and I thank @steemkidss for organizing this contest. The meal is known as Yam Porridge
The meal
Yam porridge is a very delicious and popular meal in my country Nigeria, it can be eaten both as breakfast, lunch and dinner but my family and I eat it as dinner most times. The meal is nutritious and is good for the body.
Ingredients of this meal
This meals requires just few ingredients for it to be prepared and they are;
- Yam
- Beans
- Palm oil
- Onions
- Pepper
- Salt
- Maggi
- Vegetables (optional)
- Water
Steps in preparing this meal
This steps in preparing this meal are self-explanatory and they aren't much.
Step 1
After rinsing your kitchen utensils, you put your pot on your cooker or stove and add water. Allow the boil to boil for some minutes.
Step 2
After washing your beans, put it in the pot and add your yam before you allow them to boil for some minutes.
Step 3
Add palm oil, then your blended pepper and onions. You can add sliced onions too. Allow it to boil for some minutes.
Step 4
Add your maggi and salt for it to have taste and add little water then stir and checking if the salt you added is ok by tasting the unboiled meal.
Step 5
You can add vegetables for garnishing (pumpkin leaves) is you want to. Finally your yam porridge is ready.
