Hello everyone, good evening to you all. Hope you all had a wonderful day? Corruption is seen daily in our society. This act is not practiced by the Government alone, it is also practiced by individuals.

What is Corruption?
This can be defined as a dishonest or criminal act carried out by a person or group of people.

Mention and explain five forms of corruption you know.

Examination malpractice: This is one of the major form of corruption seen in our Country today. It is an unethical conduct carried out during Examination. It comes in forms of giraffing, taking illegal materials like phone, note books into exam hall, sorting Lecturers and asking people in the exam hall.

Embezzlement of public funds: This is usually seen in public service among politicians and top Government officials. They convert the money meant for the public for their personal use.

Favoritism: This is unequal treatment in which some people get preferential treatment in an organization. Example of such people are friends and relations of the head in an organization. These set of people usually gets promotions, bonuses more than other people in an organization.

Sacred cow mechanism: This is very rampant in our Society. Here, politicians, top Government officials, rich and influential people in the society are spared when they commit a crime.

Electoral Malpractice: This is all forms of unethical acts carried out during election. It comes in forms of underage voting, snatching and burning ballot boxes, hoarding electoral materials, multiple voting e.t.c.

Give four causes of Corruption in our Society

Poverty: Poverty can make people to get involved in all forms of corrupt acts in order to make money.

Greedy: A Greedy person is insatiable, greed is the only thing that makes people especially politicians to embezzle funds made for the public.

Unemployment: A large number of youths are unemployed In my Country Nigeria. Most unemployed people are frustrated and frustration can make someone to do so many things.

Fear: This is another major cause of corruption. Is not that the citizens are not aware of the corrupt acts carried out by our leaders but they're afraid of the outcome If they should voice out.

Explain five ways corruption can be prevented?

Establishment of Anti-corruption bodies: The Government should establish groups like EFCC, which stands for Economic and Finance Crime Commission which fights corruption.

Job creation: When individuals have jobs that fend for their needs, they won't be need to carry out corrupt acts that would fetch them money.

Contentment: Everyone should be contented with what they have and avoid involvement in illicit deals.

Leadership by example: Charity they say begins at home, our leaders should show examples by always doing the right thing this will encourage the citizens to do the same.

Establishment and implementation of laws:Laws against corruption should be implemented and offenders should be made to serve due punishment.

What can you personally do to prevent Corruption in your locality?

I would do the following to prevent corruption in my locality.

Living by example.

Shunning and correcting people.

What has Steemit team and top members do to prevent the platform from being corrupted?

Appointment of moderators who check people's post on a daily basis.

Using different websites to check for plagiarism, AI generated content e.t.c.

Is there any penalty for those who try to corrupt the steemit platform?

Offenders are warned, but if they commit the crime again they're banned from posting on the platform.
