SEC17 WK:#3: large and small families, likes and dislikes by @rossnenye
Every individual here on earth came from different families both large and small.
Family is a group of people related either through blood, marriage or adoption. It usually comprises of father, mother and children for nuclear family and other relatives in extended family.
I'm not married yet, but when I get married by the special Grace of God, I would love to have three Children. I would love to have a small family that I and my husband would be able to care and cater for. I prefer small family even though I came from a family of eight comprising of my parents, my siblings and I. But we won't compare the way things were back then to now. Back then, prices of things are quite affordable in the market unlike now that things are very expensive.

Having a small family will give you the opportunity of catering for all their basic needs.
- Less stress
We know taking care of a home is not easy, taking care of a small family size is easier.
- Family bond
It is also easier for a small family to bond, make decisions and do things together unlike a large family where different people have their various opinions which usually result in quarrels.
- **Quality time
Parents usually spent quality time with their children in this type of family setting.

- Limited resources
Parents might find it quite hard to cater for the family because the cost of taking care of this type of family it's quite overwhelming.
- Limited attention
With so many people to cater for, parents in this type of family setting usually find it hard to pay attention to their children because most times, they're hustling trying to make ends meet.
- Siblings conflict
Due to limited resources, siblings usually struggle for everything which usually leads to conflict.

Havi a small family is the best way for every one as you said. But they are some who still have large family as we speak.
Anywhere life is about choice and decisions. As for me, given birth to the number you can take care of is okay.
Because both the large and small family gives joy.

What's the logic behind three? It is good to have a family plan beforehand. Our former generation were not proactive in planning families so they ended up having multiple kids but at that time needs were also confined. Nowadays having kids without planning is like riding a two wheeler on high speed without breaks. Isn't it dangerous?
That's so true. When I look at my grandparents and parents , I find clear cut difference in number of kids and their upbringing. I am now following the lessons learnt from them and trying to be a good parent .
I've seen this happen in some of my friends' families. It's tough when there's not enough to go around, and everyone ends up competing for the same resources. It can create tension and arguments among siblings, which isn't good for family harmony.

La familia es lo mas hermoso que hay y mas cuando estamos juntos para compartir, una familia formada por sus padres con varias hermanas y aunque no esta casada desea formar una familia de tres hijos para brindarles amor cariño, educacion y sobre todo para que los recuersos economicos esas equivalentes para todos.
According to me, where the expense is measured a lot, the relationship of the family is also measured a lot. If you are late, you are telling something that I am giving you, so anyway there are a lot of fights and clashes etc. in the house and those families can never be happy.

Yes the price of things aren't similar to the way it was before and I just wish things calm be cheap again most especially in Nigeria so that breadwinners will be able to take good care of their families.
