hello beautiful kids am so happy to meet you all once more how are you all doing I hope all are well and here to discuss on the topic which will be every interesting and nice and also I hope and looking forward that you all will benefit from it let's discuss in the topic which Is pressure group according to government this will be so interesting I promise I really love teaching government and also I want to be a barrester it is Among my hobbies government is the best subject to me

meaning of pressure group

pressure group is definitely defined I many ways but according to my own understanding this can be defined as an organised groups which influence the government decision socially or economically without necessarily entering into election activities for the control of government in doing this they influence the executive legislature and other official government to achieve their immediate aim. however some have argue that pressure groups are part of political process and they attempt to reforce or charge the direction if government policy but do no wish as it were to be in government

types of pressure group

we have many types of pressure but I will like to discuss in fellow major onces that really influences the government in a high degrees they are.

• Economic pressure groups.
  these are among they type of pressure groups we have they influence the government economically.these are mostly manufacturers association like chamber of commerce, cocoa famers Union, which mounts pressure on and also at the same time influence the government whenever they have problem on issues affecting their members
• professional pressure group.
  this are organised professional association like Nigeria medical association (NMA) Nigeria bar association (NBA) Nigeria union teacher's (NUT) which influences the government by going on strike to press home their demand for an improved better condition of their member.
• promotional interest group
  this group is out to champion the cause for an improve condition of the people welfare.this action may not necessarily benefit their members but to the less privileged in our society
• social pressure group
  they stand to promote the general welfare of their members and influence the government in some social activities some if their groups are boys scouts, girls guide,rotary club and so on
• Religious pressure groups.thus include the Moslem traditionalist etc who stands to influence the government on most issues affecting them which is resolved through lobbing of executive and the parliament.

• large size: the impact of the activities of the pressure group having large size/membership are usually felt more than those with small membership's
• dedication and unity: the existence of a high degree of dedication and unity among it's members in pursuance
  of their goals and objectives.
• adequate funds : there should be adequate or availability of funds with should be used to sponsor their programs.
• attitude of the government.
• good organization and strategy.
• relavance of it's aims

  this is a good technique's used by the pressure grop to influence the government policy such as mass media like radio tv and newspaper in which all of this are used to highlight their problem or make special appeal to the government this are also special effective strategy in mobilising public opinion.

dangers/demerit posed by the activities of pressure group

• political instability
• the activities if pressure group may be accompanied by social disorder
• they are self centered
• supporting of one political parties
• strike action.
• pressure group may corrupt public official by engaging in lobbying
