Steemit Engagement Challenge (SEC) WK14:#1: Neglect in families, effects on kids

It's your favourite Steemian @rakiya, I'm here to share my participation in the ongoing engagement challenge for week 1. It is a privilege to be part of you all because I have learned a lot in the past few days.

As always, I search for simple and interesting contests to participate in and this very one is one among such interesting contests and that is the main reason I will be sharing my entry in it today.

👉What does neglect of responsibilities mean in a family🙇?

Neglect of responsibility means not doing what you are supposed to do as a parent in a family. Every parent or child has a responsibility to carry out hence if it gets to a point where you have a bad one your responsibility, then we can say you have neglected your responsibility.

In our environment today we see a lot of scenarios of neglect of responsibility because a lot of people go into relationships and then give birth out of word lock and can't care for the children they have given birth to.

This is a clear example of neglect of responsibility. You see children roaming the street without anyone to care for or cater for them. The way and manner they eat or take their bath is not the concern of those who brought them into the world and that is what neglect of responsibility is all about.

👉Have you been neglected or seen anyone neglected? What are the effects on the kids

As I said earlier, my environment is filled with children who are neglected and the effect of these on their life is not good at all. Most of them end up contracting different sicknesses because they don't take their bath or even have good food to eat.

Importantly, these children don't have any means of education because no one to sponsor them. Also, they end up becoming a problem to the community because they indulge in every dirty means just to get money and feed themselves.

So the effect of neglect on kids is really bad because it causes them physical and psychological issues that may haunt them for the rest of their lives.

👉Your advice to parents who neglect their responsibilities towards their kids.

To every parent especially those who neglect their duties towards their children, I urge you to rethink and always know that God will hold you responsible for whatever happens to the child.

So since you have been given the responsibility of caring for a child, always do it to the best of your ability because that child may be your helper tomorrow and if you neglect that child, he or she may not get to where he or she is supposed to get to.

Also, if you neglect that child and they then make it tomorrow he or she may neglect you because you never cared from the very beginning. These are the reason why must not neglect anyone.

👉Your advice to the kids who are neglected

To all kids who are neglected, I urge you to keep fighting for a better future. God has not neglected you so instead of joining a bad gang because your parent doesn't care about you anymore, I suggest you fight your way into becoming the best version of yourself.

When you become relevant in society via your hard work and the way you live your life, you will be surprised at what you will achieve and those who neglected you will come back and join you in celebration.
