Hello, my beautiful people of this great platform, I'm here again this week to present my entry in this ongoing contest program of the steemit engagement challenge for week 2. This week this community came up with a very interesting topic titled Impacts of Technology on kids' lives. I will be discussing this topic via the questions given below. So let's look at it.
Write an overview of how technology has impacted the world as a whole.
Before technology, we have what we call the stone age. This is a period where we have little or no technology at all. During this period almost everything was done manually. There was no means of commercial farming, no means of communicating over long distances and so on. Though farming and communication are still done but not as effective as it is today. During that period, a raven is usually sent from the palace to deliver a message and cattle are used for farming.
As I have said earlier, these things used are not very effective. You can not farm larger farmland with cattle and you are not certain that your message will also be delivered and even if it will be delivered, it may take some time. All these are the issues faced before the coming of technology. Now let's look at how technology has helped us solve this problem.
Today we have telephone or handset, internet etc as a means of communication. You can reach someone in a faraway country within a split second. Another thing is that technology has also helped us in our farming by providing tractors which can farm a larger heater of land within some minutes, we have improved seeds which instead of maturing in 6 months can mature in 3 months, we have herbicide and insecticides to control weed and pest so that we can have a good yield.
Technology has also helped in the transaction activities and the use of digital currency. One of the most powerful impacts technology has made is the invention of blockchain where we have cryptocurrency as digital cash that can be used to do any form of transaction. Technology has helped to connect the world globally. Every aspect of our lives today has been touched by technology both physically and spiritually.
Share with us some of the positivity and negativity of technology in kids' lives.
Technology is just like the olden days when we have no technology we faced some issues which takes much time to resolve and some of which we were unable to resolve because of limited resources. In this section, we are going to look at the positivity and the negativity of technology to kids.
Positivity of Technology to Kids
a- One of the positive aspects of technology is that it has helped kids to learn a lot of things because of the availability of resources.
b- Technology has also induced kids into the habit of concentration and attention. A good example is when a kid is spotted playing the game.
c- Interaction between kids is seen on an increase because of the presence of technology in their lives today. You will see a little child connecting with other children around the world and also learning from each other.
Negativity of Technology to Kids
a- Addiction of kids to the use of technological devices like phones, computers etc and then they forget the use of things like the Bible, books etc.
b- The internet which is a part of technology also in some way helps to spoil kids like the situation where the kids find themselves watching pornography and all other dirty things.
c- Technology also has made kids lazy and instead of using it for more research to improve their knowledge, they end up only acquiring the wrong knowledge. They tend to forget their housework and thereby making their parent complain more.
How would you rate the impact of technology in kids' life? Highly positive or negative? Explain.
Despite the negative side of technology, I still rate the impact of technology on the life of kids as highly positive. My reasons are not far-fetched. Before this time, the knowledge exposure to kids is minimal and for that reason, they only know what they are restricted to knowing but with the help of technology, kids now know better by going the extra mile to make their research and improve themself.
We have seen kids today representing their parents, and school in public, by the way, the speakers all are products of the extra learning they get from technology. So to me, once the right knowledge is enquired by kids through technology, then the kid's life will be impacted completely to stand out among his or her equals.
Can you have control over the exposure of kids to certain technological products? How?
As a parent or as an elder in the house, the answer to this question is yes. Sure you can have control over the exposure of kids to certain technological products. Firstly, you must not allow them to touch some of the products you don't want them to have access to, secondly, you must try to watch their daily activities while using some of these technological products. I recommend you always explain the effects of using some of the products that you don't want them to use so that they will be aware of the exact reason why you are restricting them to use them.
Conclusion
Technology in the lives of kids is very important because it will help them to be always informed. We all know that information is power and when you are informed, it is difficult to be found wanting. So technology has contributed more positively to the lives of kids than any other thing. I invite

Technology has come to facilitate many of our daily activities. It has been present in all stages of life.
Nowadays, children from an early age begin to use technological equipment, which helps them in their intellectual development.
It is important that children's interaction with technology be monitored by parents and representatives, to prevent them from becoming obsessed or addicted to such devices.
Such as there is great need for technology in our world today, there wish also a great need to control the much time spent in it, it can be disastrous for kids. They tend to forget the most important things for the sake of technology. Thank you for your entry
