Wednesday – I spy with my little eye – Mini contest (23)

Hello kids and parents!

It is Wednesday and the last one before Christmas. I hope that by now you have all written your letters for Santa.

Before we get to Christmas we have to look at last week's clue and if we had a winner or not.

The clues;

1. It is a 11-letter word
2. They don't have the muscular organs humans have in their mouths
3. They don't have the growth like on some animals
4. They do look like an open mouth

To my surprise, for the third week, there is not a winner and that brings this week's prize to 8 STEEM!

And the word is ... BEARDTONGUES!

BEARD - They don't have the growth like on some animals

TONGUE - They don't have the muscular organs humans have in their mouths

FLOWER - They do look like an open mouth

Yip and that is what they are, a species of "two lip" flowering plants also known as Pentstemon with yellow, red, and violet as the dominant colors of the flowers.

The first scientific description of these plants can be found as far back as 1748.

What is interesting is that some species are found in the forest, others in the desert, and some even in the alpine zone.
Of the 550 species recorded there are currently only 250 left.

If you would like to plant some you will be glad to know that they are easy to grow, need little care, and will for sure make an impact in your garden.

The game is exactly like last week;

The game “I spy with my little eye” is sort of a detective game. The “spy” is the person who sees something and the rest of the players must then guess what the spy is seeing.

Of importance, it must be something that you can see and not something you can feel like an emotion.

BUT, “I spy with my little eye” is so much more than just a spy game;

• It is a thinking game
• It teaches you how to use your logic and reasoning and
• It grows your vocabulary

The contest

For today I am going to give you the letter with which the word starts plus 4 points or “clues” which you can take into consideration to figure out what the word can be.
