Food challenge contest week #55 || For kids and parents | how to make vermicelli desert .

Hello my dear friends hope all of you are doing good. I am also fine.It is a nice opportunity to be a part of great community today in attempt to the wonderful contest organised by @ Steem kids & parents community. I am really glad to participate in such wonderful contest.

The food challenge is to educate our kids with various food recipes and the process of making. So here I am going to present a desert with details recipe. The desert is my favourite **sewai**.Sewai is a light Indian dessert made on special occasions such as festivals and dinner parties. The combination of vermicelli strands and milk is famous across the entrie nation.
Ingredients for the recipe :
  • Milk - 1/2 litre
  • Vermicelli (sewai) - 1/2 cup
  • Sugar to taste
  • Bay leaf
  • Long
  • Almonds -4-5
  • Cashews -5-6
  • Raisins -5-6
  • Cardamom-2
  • Desi ghee-1tbspn

let's start the process :
I really love to eat this desert. While i was small girl my mom used to cook it for me. And i sit beside her and look all the process everytime. It's quick desert option for every one. So i am going to share this instant sweet recipe to satisfy your sweet cravings. So, let's begin first of all place a pan on cooktop and switch on the gas flame. Then Put ghee in the pan, let it for few minutes to heat up, them fry dry fruits lightly. If you are taking plain vermicelli, then you have to fry vermicelli too. I have taken roasted vermicelli so i skipped the process. You have to roast vermicelli till it turns golden brown .

Now let's boil milk in another pan, and after milk get boiled add sugar according to your taste and then add cardamom and bay leaf to it and let it boil again. Now it's the time to add our main ingredient vermicelli in the pan containing milk, mix all the ingredients well. Let it cook for 3-4 minutes and then turn off the gas. We can also add some milk to dilute it if it has become hard. Then garnish it using almond and cashews and you can add kesar too. I have garnish it with almond , cashews and some cherry pieces. Then transfer it to a serving bowl and enjoy it with your friends and family. It's very simple and quick recipe. I am sure kids will learn very easily and make it by themselves.

Health benefits of sewai and when it mostly taken :
Vermicelli made of semolina doesn't have much health benefits apart from providing instant energy. There are no any major nutrients apart from carbohydrates and some dietary fibre. Vermicelli is fat free and low in sodium. It's benifits include , it's a Good source of carbohydrates, it provides sustained energy. It is said to be Cholesterol free and fat free.
  • It gives us instant and sustained energy.
    Vermicellis are made of refined or whole wheat flour can supply energy since its main nutrient is carbohydrates. On a busy working day, breakfast with vermicelli upma is a great way to get huge energy boost. Carbs, we all know, are important for the brain to function.

  • Vermicelli contains zero fat or cholesterol. So it can be easily pair with a healthy meal by restricting the use of saturated fats and using healthy fats such as olive oil and nutritious vegetables.

  • It can provide selenium. Whole and refined flour vermicelli is really a good source of nutrients like selenium, which have important roles in the thyroid, immune, respiratory, mental, cardiac and bone functions.

Since vermicelli is a refined food . As we all know refined food quickly increase the blood sugar levels. So the best time to consume this food in morning since metabolism is the strongest early during the day.
