Hello Everyone, welcome to my blog again. Today, I will be showing you all, HIBISCUS LEAVES, its benefits and how it is been prepare. I'm opportune to take part in this contest. Thanks to @steemkidss and @steemwomenclub for this privilege.

INTRODUCTION OF HIBISCUS LEAVES

Hibiscus leaves also known as Zobo in Hausa language is an edible plant produced from dried Roselle or sorrel leaves(Hibiscus sabdariffa) species. This plant is highly cultivated in the northern part of Nigeria probably because of climate. It is gaining wide acceptance being consumed by millions of people from different socio-economic classes and background across the west Africa sub region. Especially among the youth, children e.t.c. zobo drink, which is made from hibiscus leaves is sees as alternative source of cheap and relaxing non-alcoholic drink in social gathering, at home e.t.c. The calyces of the hibiscus leaves is found to be rich in vitamins, natural carbohydrate, protein and vitamin c, minerals and other antioxidants. Hibiscus leaves can be used in different ways, it can be used toward health care, skincare, and refreshment.

BENEFITS OF HIBISCUS LEAVES

  1. It helps to lower blood pressure and blood fat level in the body by promoting weight loss.
  2. Hibiscus leaves may helps to boost liver health and it also contain compound that that may helps to prevent cancer.
  3. It contains vitamin c which helps to fight against bacteria/viruses in the body system.
  4. Hibiscus tea or extract can help to bring instant relief from cough and cold.
  5. The AHA present in hibiscus helps in improving the skin complexion and texture
  6. Hibiscus contain gentle acid that have slight exfoliating effect on the skin.
  7. Hibiscus also helps your hair to growth from dormant hair follicles helping cover bald patches. It helps to fight hair dryness and dandruff and many others.

PREPARATION OF THE HIBISCUS LEAVES
I will be using the hibiscus leaves to make zobo drink.
Recipe
Hibiscus sabdariffa
Pineapple
Water
Ginger(optional)
Clove(optional)
Flavours
Step 1: wash the hibiscus leaves and put them in a pot then pour water on it and set it on fire.
Step 2: peel your pineapple and add it to the pot once it is boiling.
Note: Some people put only the back of the pineapple then pour the pineapple water after seiving. I'm putting everything inside when it is boiling.
Step 3: After the hibiscus leaves changes color then bring down and seive it. Then add your flavour/sweetener. You can used sugar or honey too.
Then serve and drink. You can refrigerate the rest.

CONCLUSION
Hibiscus leaves have been used traditionally, therefore it is very essential to health care, skincare, haircare and so on. Hibiscus leaves have been made popular because of its advantage to life. You can get it easy at the marketplace. With hibiscus leaves, Zobo drink have been made easy. Stay natural always. I love you all😍😍
