INTRODUCTION

Is food O'clock, let's cook some delicious meal just for you. I will be showing step by step procedures of how I made the soup. Bitter leaf soup is a very sweet soup that is mainly eaten with fufu or Garri. It is a delicacy that the Igbo's are known for expecially the Anambra part of Igbo land in Nigeria. This bitterleaf is called in my native language Olugbu, The Akwaibomites calls it Etidot.

HOW TO PREPARE BITTERLEAF SOUP

There are so many ways to prepare bitterleaf soup such as using the following ingredients.

  • It can be prepared with Achi.

  • It can be prepared with ofor.

  • It can be prepared with Ede.(Cocoyam)

  • It can be prepared with melon and waterleaf.

  • NOTE.. ALL THESE MENTIONED ABOVE ARE SOUP THICKENERS JUST AS YOU LIKE.

I will be preparing mine with melon and waterleaf.

  • Step 1.

    Bitterleaf

Cut the bitterleaf and clean it from insects like mellipedes. You can sun a little if you want it to be straight but if you want it to be in pieces you wash like that.

Squeeze and wash with clean water until the water turns white and the bitter taste is out.

This is the colour when is properly washed and ready for use.

Wash the waterleaf and cut after cutting you can rewash again so that the sticky water will go out Set it aside for use.

Ingredients are ready

Everything is ready for use and they are.

  • bitterleaf.
  • fresh pepper
  • Dry fish
  • Cow meat
  • cow skin(kpomo)
  • crayfish
  • melon
  • waterleaf
  • knor maggie
  • salt
  • red oil.
  • Stockfish.

Now that everything is ready . Wash your pot and steam the meats, keep it at a place. Fry the melon small with red oil put your washed waterleaf cover it to cook, Next is to turn the meats in the pot of soup and cook together with the waterleaf and melon, put salt and Maggie for taste. The bitterleaf is the last and our food is ready.

I will recommend this soup because is very simple to cook and it has a very good health benefits that is beneficial to our body system.

Conclusion

My cooking class will continue. But i will call it a day here.
