JOLLY PHONICS LETTERS SOUNDS ORDER. LEVEL ONE
In our last phonics class, we learnt the letter sounds and their unique actions The jolly Phonics way.
We sounded letters a - z and demonstrated their actions as well.
I hope it wasn’t confusing at any point and please ask your questions in the comments box so I can attend to them. Thank you so much 😊.
So, this week’s class is going to be a continuation of the last class.
Our topic today is JOLLY PHONICS LETTERS SOUNDS ORDER
The Jolly Phonics sounds are grouped into six levels according to their simplicity and order of use from basics to more complex ones.
The first group is s a t p i n
So we’re going to take the letter sounds and their examples of appearance and use in words one after the order.
• Sound s as in sun ☀️, sat, set, sop, snake 🐍 etc.
• Sound a as in ant 🐜, arm, ban, fan etc.
• Sound t as in tap, pot, let, ten etc.
• Sound p as in tip, pen 🖊, sop, pet etc.
• Sound i as in ink, win, insect, tin etc.
• Sound n as in net, ten, pan, nest etc.
These are the first level sounds of the jolly phonics and word examples.
I hope it’s clear to this point?😊. Please if there is any misunderstanding, let me know in the comments box. Thanks a lot.
We will take the level two (2) sounds in our next class.
Write down three (3) words each for each of the letter sounds we learnt today (s a t p i n).
Please, try to do this homework by yourself. Just think of the words you use everyday or objects around you that has these sounds and spell them in your own way.
I look forward to seeing beautiful performances from all my babies.🥰.
I have faith in all of you and I know you can do anything that you want to do.
Dear Parents, Please note 📝 that there are so many words that we use daily that has these sounds in their spellings but it is ideal that our babies start their sounds and spellings journey with the very simple words eg three-letter words besides some of these sounds especially the consonants are joined in twos to make digraphs which we will discuss in due time.
You can guide them but please, do not do the work for them. Thank you so much.
