Preface

Hello everyone welcome to my blog today. I believe you're all doing well. Today I will be writing about how to improve family health. I believe that this is an interesting topic because we all have families and would be interested in keeping them well and safe and one of the ways to do that is to make sure they are healthy.
To understand how to improve your family health, it is important to understand what health is all about in the first place so let's talk about the general concept of health and family first.

Meaning of family

Generally the family consist of the father (husband), mother (wife) and children. In some cases it might include grand parents or in-laws in a case of an extended family. It is important that everybody in the family stays healthy because when even one member of the family is unhealthy it affects every member of the family negatively so it is important to learn how to maintain or improve the health of everyone in the family.

Health

Health is a general state of well-being. That includes physical well-being which includes absence of illness physically, phycological well-being which involves absence of emotional illness, mental wellness which means that the person is sound in mind and more. Understanding health in this way will help us see that the ways to improve family health are very vast. Let's see some ways we can do so starting with physical health.

How to improve physical health

The weight of the responsibility to improve the family health lies on the parents or adults in the family since they are more experienced and wise and therefore in a better position to make good decisions about health matters. Even so everyone in the family can contribute to improving the health life of the family. Here are some ways we can improve the family's physical health:

Education

Education involves imparting knowledge to others an although what readily comes to mind when the word is mentioned are institutions like Schools, education actually begins at home and people start learning from infancy. Health education should also start from home parents have the most work to do in this regard they have to teach their children about things that can cause harm to them like certain things they should not touch(like electrical outlets and appliances), places they should avoid (like heights) and substances that could be detrimental to their health and explain the consequences to them clearly.

Hygiene

Good hygiene is paramount to improving the health of the family. It is important that everybody in the family has good personal hygiene so that they don't develop and spread communicable diseases to other members of the family since they share things most things in common. The cleanliness of the environment cannot be overemphasized. Cutting bushes around the home, getting rid of stagnant water can protect the family from sicknesses like malaria and dengue fever, proper waste disposal and covering food properly can prevent houseflies from spreading dysentery and other related illnesses and arranging things properly can prevent injuries caused by a littered environment.

Nutrition

It is common knowledge that a lot of illnesses can be prevented by good nutrition. Sickness like kwashiorkor is commonly caused by malnutrition. To combat this and improve the family health it is important the there is provision of good food. That means the balanced diet is made available to all in the family and they are fed what their age require for example kids and young ones need more proteins, sugar for energy and vitamins while older ones might need less of the proteins and sugar and more vitamins richly available in fruits. If the family is provide with healthy, well prepared and nutritious meals it will greatly improve the family's health.

Exercise and Rest

Exercise is another important factor to maintaining and improving good health. This is because during exercise the heart beats faster thereby improving blood flow and aiding the exit of waste products and efficient movement of oxygen and nutrients so exercise greatly improves health. So ensuring a good exercise routine for the family would be great for their health. Things like riding bicycles, jogging, brisk walking or even visiting the gym for work out is greatly recommended. Along with exercises rest is very important as it gives the body time to refresh and relax. So making sure everyone has enough time for sleep is also very important

Mental health

Mental health is a part of health that is almost always under-emphasized maybe because unlike physical ailments mental illness is not noticed unless it becomes very serious. But a lot of things can affect any member of the family mentally, emotionally or phycologicaly. Sometimes serious mental stress can even have physical effects like insomnia and headaches. A child can get sick from stress from school maybe constant bullying and a spouse can be emotionally torn from hurtful words. Any member of the family may even suffer depression from a loss of a loved one or children may suffer from low self esteem because of constant scolding from parents and not being able to meet up to the high standards set for them. To avert such effects it is important that the environment at home is friendly, full of love, void of competition and that respect for everyone is maintained. Parents should also be attentive to kids and teens to help them cope with challenges outside the home.

Members of the family should also have a purpose. Setting and achieving simple short term and long term goals can also help boost self esteem. Sincere commendation and loving correction can also go a long way to improve the family's health.

Conclusion

Its is said that "health is wealth" and that " charity begins at home" so a healthy family means a wealthy family and also means a better contribution to the society which is made up of different families. The use of just one picture which is that of yourself in almost all your posts isn't that ideal. You can use pictures from free sites which gives and add quality to your post. At least ,2-3 pictures is ohkay.
