My visit to Egbokodo secondary School Egbokodo warri delta for inter-house sports competition 2022/2023|| 28th March 2022.
The 28th of March 2022, I went to Egbokodo secondary School inter-house sports competition warri Delta state and its a government school, the anticipation was much for me because my mom is a teacher in the school and an house mistress and she has been making alot of preparation due to the dance competition they want to perform in the event.
So the event started exactly 10am Nigeria time and the event was open with prayers from the principal Mrs kpesu Judith and they sang national anthem, school anthem and delta State anthem and a welcoming speech was given for all the parents, students, teacher's and house mistress. I so much like interhouse sports competition back then in secondary School because it enable the student to engage in physical exercise which they are not opportuned to do at home, it make them super excited like the joy is extreme and you know there's a saying that
All work and No play make jack a dull boy
It all started with a match pass from the four houses blue house, green house, yellow house and Red house, after the matching round, Dj started playing music to get the catching the Egbokodo train ready for their display of different Traditional dress, blue house represent itsekiri tribe, yellow house represent ijaw tribe,Red house represent urhobo tribe and green house represent Igbo tribe
They were ask several questions concerning their traditional food, meaning of spoon, kitchen, knife etc in their language.
While all these where ask the cultural dancer where getting set, dressing up.
Green house which represent Igbo culture was the first to dance, like I was wowed yesterday, the outfit was super amazing and their dance step was unique too it was like a drama dance the king and queen was looking for a maiden to marry his son, the children was so happy dancing and it was acted perfectly well like Nigeria movie
Red house was the second house to dance representing urhobo tribe, the children were all dressed with their beautiful attire.
Yellow house representing ijaw tribe, the children were all dress in yellow attire.
Blue house was the fourth house to dance representing itsekiri tribe, in their unique attire and they perform omoko dance. The amazing things was that my mom actually dressed them because she's the house mistress and their local language teacher as well.
Spot me here in the dressing room.
After the dance they called the result for match pass, Red house took 1st position, yellow took 2nd position, green took 3rd position and blue the fourth position and they were given their cup/🏅
They didn't run in the event due to some reason know to them and also they didn't call the overall result because they were draw in scores, so that's how the event ended with dancing, song play by Dj and everyone was excited and went home happy thanks.
