Christmas and it's origin do u know
In all part of the world people look forward to Christmas as a time to be with family, enjoy good food, and give gifts.During periods like this people are given off at their work place the government declares holidays and so on during periods like this people see it as a time to put up with those whom they had issues with they view this period as an opportunity to make peace.
The bible does not tell us the day month or year Jesus was born nor does it gives us a clue of the origin of Christmas well from my research it has a pagan origin. The Encyclopedia Americana says ; saturnalia, a Roman feast celebrated in mid December provided the model for many of the merry making customs of Christmas. From this celebration for example were derived the elaborate feasting the giving of gifts and the burning of candles". That's not all also the birth day of Persian sun god mithra was celebrated on the 25. As a Christian I go through a whole lot of research on every celebration one of the facts that counters this is that Jesus never told or said to us to keep celebrating his birthday there is no account of that in the bible. Unlike what is recorded here in Lu 22;19 " keep doing this in remembrance of me "which was his death.
The Jewish month chislev which correponds to November/ December was a Month with cold and rainy weather .The month after that was tebeth that was between december and January. There is no indication That he was born in December because the bible says when the angels appeared to the shepherds they were all outside with their flock .Now if it were to be during the month of chislev ( Nov- Dec) it would have been impossible to find anyone outside because of the cool weather. Therefore it must have been Between Tishri ( sep- Oct) because the weather would be a bit warm and during periods like this the sheep and shepherd s were out.
WHY DO YOU CHOOSE TO OR CHOOSE NOT TO CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS? |

Many reasons though ,I don't really see anything special about this day the actual date of this celebration is unknown. Its not recorded in the bible .many view this period as a time to show love ,to care, and make peace with other.I show love whenever I have to I do not wait for an actual date or celebrate day God loves a cheerful giver so one could give and always give at any time I invite @uduak01 @adeade @queenella1 to participate in this contest.
Dear @mosesstone, you came with a nice entry to be sincere, I'm happy you understand that Jesus Christ was not born on December as some people think, with the sense i see in this post i believe we have one special thing in common.
