I wish you all will be great by the blessings and mercy of Almighty Allah. Today I am here to share a delightful Pulao recipe and participate in the food challenge of Steem kids and Parents Community.

Pulao is a fragrant and flavorful rice dish.In this comprehensive guide we will take you through the steps to prepare a delicious Pulao in your own kitchen.

IngredientsQuantity
Basmati rice1 kg
Mixed vegetables (potatoes)1 cup, diced
Onions2, thinly sliced
Ginger-garlic paste2 tablespoons
Cumin seeds1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder1/2 teaspoon
Garam masala1 teaspoon
Cooking oil2-3 tablespoons
SaltTo taste
Fresh coriander leavesFor garnish

Preparation
Washing and Soaking Rice
  • Wash the Basmati rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.
Add Onions and Ginger-Garlic Paste
  • In a large pot, heat the cooking oil over medium heat.

  • Add the thinly sliced onions and ginger-garlic paste. Fry them until the onions turn golden brown.
Add Vegetables and Spices
  • Add the diced vegetables and fry for a few minutes until they start to soften.I have added potatoes we can Also add any vegetables we want.

  • Sprinkle turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt. Stir well to coat the vegetables with the spices.
Cooking Rice
  • Add the soaked and drained Basmati rice to the pot. Gently stir to combine with the vegetables and spices.

  • Pour 4 cups of water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and cover and simmer for about 15-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.

Fluffing and Garnishing
  • Once the rice is cooked, fluff it with a fork to separate the grains.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.

  • Your delicious Pulao is ready to be served!
  • It pairs perfectly with raita or your favorite curry.

Tips:

  • Customize the vegetables according to your preference.
  • You can add fried paneer or tofu for a protein boost.
