in Steem Kids & Parents2 years ago (edited)

Hello, great people of the @steemkidss community, I greet you all dears.
I am here to take part in this contest as I continue counting myself lucky to be part of this community.

The topic caught my attention because this is one serious topic that at least 95% of us have suffered in one way or the other.

What is bullying?
Bullying is an act that is aimed to hurt someone or make someone feel less of themselves either physically, verbally or socially.
Bullying is generally done by people who are aged, important or more known than the person they are bullying.

Do you have them in your locality?
Yes, we do. mostly between children and leaders.

Have you been bullied before ,if so how did you feel about it? or are you being bullied at the present? if so how do you feel about it?
In primary school,we had this guy who was too old to be in the primary.
He wanted me to be his girlfriend but I did not want to get involved in such things at that early age, he started calling me names and saying all sorts of words that always made me feel small.
I started hating going to school.

How can kids win over their bullies?must they fight them to win or any other means.
Kids are raised differently from different homes and culture.
Some kids are aggressive and some are well behaved and all this depends on the parenting.
But a bullied child should not fight back a bully but can do the following;

Help them to be better by showing a positive attitude towards them.
Talking to the bullies and tell them how you feel. if it fails them report them to the teachers and parents.

What forms does bullying take?
They are different forms of bullying and this include;

  • Physical bullying.
    This one it's always the people who are stronger than others who always do it because they think that they cannot be defeated.
    Its always by beating, kicking and pushing.

  • Verbal bullying.
    Vebal bullying is when someone uses words to make the one bullied feel uncomfortable or small such as teasing, funny sexual comments and calling names.in most cases this one results into fighting.

  • Cyber bullying.
    This happens online like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram when people put negative comments on other people's posts.
    In relationships and friendships when one embraces or spreads wrong rumours about the other, body shaming.

Why might young ones be bullied?
Young ones might be bullied because most of them are still young and have low self esteem which makes it hard for them to stand up on their own and defend themselves.

What are the effects of bullying?

  • Bullying can cause depression.
    teasing and name-calling makes one feel lonely and insures about themselves which makes them get stressed hence causing depression which can even lead to death.

  • The decline in performance.
    It can be at work or academic wise. children start performing poorly in class.

  • Dropping out of school.
    The feeling of insecure and having fear of meeting the same children who tease can make children stop going to school.

Solutions to bullying?

Stimulating open communications between children and parents, children and teachers, children and children.

Gifting children who are well behaved. will encourage other children to stop misbehaving for them to be rewarded.

Put forward mindfulness about bullying in schools and also at home.
This will help children to know where to go once it happens and also they will know how bad it is.

Talk to children about the behaviours that are heavily penalised once they are committed.This will create fear in them.

Inconclusion

In most cases parents realise that a child is being bullied when its too late because the child had fear to report the bully.
Parents should talk to their kids more frequently about,their friends,what happened during the day etc in order for them to get to know what is happening in their childrens lives.

I invite @debbiez,@gladys-nanyanga and @faithlyn to participate in this contest.

With love
@mariez

Well done, it is a great post. And... Congratulations on the upvote from The7Up team!
It's true, I've see so often that the kids will rather not talk about them being bullied and in the end they commit suicide which is so sad :-(
