The nature of children
With resources like energy, vitality and time available to children in large quantity, sprinting around the house and playing football are sure ways to spend the excess energy. With a lake of wisdom and good judgement, children are most likely to make poor choices. They often engage in activities without considering possible repercussions. And I strongly believe that is what makes them children.

The need for control
Restrictions in most home are created to keep slide windows from getting shattered by stray balls, as they display their talent with the ball around the house. Without such restrictions, children 'grow wild' and may get injured or cause serious damage.

I remember being lashed a couple of times for stone throwing and for narrowly missing the neighbour's wind shield.

The need for balance
Children need control but there is also a need to exercise. To balance their need for physical exercise, once in a while it's cool to take kids out in a setting that allows them spread out their wings and let off steam.

The destination is Museum Park along Udo Udoma Avenue. Driving down to the location was part of the fun. On getting there, the grass was green, the field was wide and the weather, just right for this.

The ball is rolled out, it's time to display some talent.
The explanation is simple, here there is no glass to brake. Cars are parked at a distance, no windshields to crack.

Opening wide shots and making a run for it. I did not have the strength to keep up, but I tried. I ran out of breath a number of times. Such are opportunities to form bonds and get labelled the the favourite uncle, or get a father of the year award.

Children respond well to discipline and correction from parents and adults who balance work and home, giving to them quality time, love, attention and care.

The weekend was exciting. Memorable and fun. The amusement was great, the lesson was simple: there is time to play, run and jump about. And place also matters.

Try to make sure the lesson does not spoil the fun. I backed out at some point and allows them play. And when it was time, we switched to icecream and called it a day.

On our way home, they talked about how they jumped a and kicked the ball, how the dribble was done, how fast they ran and so on.

"When next are we going to the field again?"
