It's another day of the week and I'm delighted to participate in this contest today organized by @moyeon which talks about the Importance Of Co-education. I will be making my entry below so read through it and drop your valuable comment as it will be appreciated.

What is the meaning of co-education?

Co-education simply means education that involves a male and a female. When a male and a female attend the same school and receive classes together, we call that type of education co-education.

Before now, males and females didn't go to the same school which made people have school for males and another school for females. This made them stay apart from each other.

When the concept of co-education came into play, people started creating schools where both males and females could sit together in the same classroom and then learn together. In most places today in the world co-education is what is used.

Which education do you prefer for your kids? Coeducational centers or all boys /all girls educational centers?

I went to a government boys' secondary school but before I could graduate, the school was converted from government boys to government boy and girls secondary school. This means that it was initially for only boys but the management saw the need for co-education and they started admitting girls as well.

So based on that, as a parent, I would like my child to go to a co-educational institute because they will have the privilege to associate with the opposite gender which will help them to learn and know more about themselves.

How do Co-educational centers play a role in developing the personality of a child?

The coeducational center plays a role in the development of the personality of a child in the sense that they bring both genders together and then teaches them about each other. Also, there are times when a competition will be organized between them which will make them work even harder to win.

So with the struggle to beat the boys or the struggle to beat the girls in the class, both genders struggle, and in this struggle, they tend to bring out the best in them. This is the way the coeducational centers help to improve the personality of our children.

Merits and demerits of Co-education.

One of the merits or advantages of the co-educational center is that it helps the students or pupils i.e. both male and female to compete thereby bringing out the best in them through the challenge of who leads the class.

Also, both genders will have the opportunity to know more about each other because they will stay, learn, play, and eat with each other. Through this means they will be able to learn about their differences.

In the case of the disadvantage or demerit, the children could get involved in a sexual act because they are always with each other thereby having the urge for immortality. This is the main disadvantage of the coeducational center.
