The beautiful town of Marawila

Today i am going to talking about my currently living village. It's name Marawila. Marawila is a beautiful town/village in the Puttalam District of the North West Province of Sri Lanka. This is an area bordering the sea, with a beautiful coastline. Mostly Catholic people live here. This area is also called Little Italy. The reason is that a large number of people in this area live in Italy. Fishing is the main source of income for the coastal people of Marawila. Some go to sea, others sell the fish they bring. The people around the sea do not live a luxury life, they live a very simple life.Some go to sea at night, while others go to sea in the morning. Those who go at night will come ashore the next morning. Those who go in the morning will arrive in the evening. Either way, seafaring is a very dangerous life-and-death battle. But they have to do this job to live.Although the people engaged in the fishing profession are very friendly, they behave very violently in some cases. It depends on the level of education they have received and the society they live in. There is no special market to sell the fish they bring to the land and they sell the fish by the roadside. However, the fish is cheaper than other markets and fresh fish can be bought from those places. The morning trade ends around 12 noon.
Like I said before, there is a beautiful beach in Marawila. Therefore, the tourism industry is also operating in this area. A large number of tourist hotels built to provide facilities and accommodation for foreign tourists are located in the Marawila area. The beautiful beaches of Marawila provide a great boost to this tourism industry.
The Holy Cross Shrine in Marawila is very popular among Catholic devotees. Catholic devotees from many parts of Sri Lanka come to worship the Marawila Cross Church. This place is very famous among the people as a holy place with great miracles.
