Greetings to you and welcome to my post today. It has always been my pleasure to have you here around so feel free as you read this post. In this post, I have discussed about technology in accordance to the contest that was organized in Steemkids Community.

Okay friend, we all know that in the past few years (i.e 20yrs ago), technology has rapidly grows. The use of technology is increasing day in and day out in the world as a whole. Due to how technology has drastically increased, the world as a whole has change a lot in the area of thinking, learning, communication and even playing of games. Indeed Technology plays a vital role in the world as a whole which I want you to read through below.

Write an overview of how technology has impacted the world as a whole.

Okay friend, let's take a look at what the word technology is. What is technology?

Friend, TECHNOLOGY simply means the body of knowledge that handles anything that has to do with invention, innovation, application of technical facilities, with their relationship with human life our environment, society and the world as a whole. In a nutshell, technology can be defined as the use of scientific knowledge to achieve or create useful applications/something that would change our life.

With the advancements of technology in the world today, it's of no doubt that both technology and the world as a whole are co-dependent and even co-related with each other for things to be done fast. Technology has impacted the world as a whole, including potential for the world which we are living to either progress faster or decline faster, in both good and bad way which we might also look at. The whole as a whole is shaped by the technology which we are seeing today.

The whole as a whole have grown rapidly due to the advancement of technology like, computers, mobile phone, TV, smartwatch, electrical car and so many other technology. We makes uses of technology in our daily lives to make things faster by either to work, connect with one another, explore information across the world etc.

Technology as we all know has a more positive impact on our society, environment including the world as a whole as compared to the negatives impact of technology. Technology has impacted our life by making things easier for us. However, below are some of the ways in which technology has impacted the world as a whole positively.

How Technology has positively impacted the world.

Technology has positively impacted the world as a whole in the following ways;

• Improved communication
• Improved education and means of learning
• Provide access to information
• Improved productivity both in agricultural products

Let's take a look at how really technology has impacted the world from what I have mentioned above.

Improved Communication: Communication is one of the most important thing in the world, because it's through communition, that we can build our thoughts with each other and also get to know how our loved ones are doing. I can remembered backed then around 2005 that I my dad traveled out communicating with him was very difficult, one has to go to post office and spent some days waiting for signal.

Earlier then we make used of letter writing, Fax etc to transfer message across to our loved ones. I can even remembered my dad once told me that during his time people where using birds or pigeons to send messages across.

Today, there's a big changes in the way we communicate with our loved ones. I can be in Nigeria and communicate with someone in USA within a minute. Technology has impacted the way we communicate, send messages and so on. Today, with the help of technology we can send messages to our loved ones, companies and even to those we don't know via social media platforms, email and so on very fast.

Technology has make it possible we to share information via talking with our loved ones that are far from us. With technology we can see the faces of our loved ones and feel more relaxed without travelling down go where their are. This is how technology has impacted the world as a whole in the area of communication.

Improved Education and Means of Learning: Technology has impacted the world as a whole in such a way that people no longer go to the library to enhance their knowledge, instead their make uses of the internet to enhance their knowledge.

You can see today with the help of technology, we now have a platform like Khan academy, YouTube, Udemy, Coursera etc that people make use of to enhance their knowledge. One good impact about technology in education is that 90% of the information are free of charge for we to access.

Improved productivity both in agricultural products: Technology has play a very vital role when it's comes to productivity, most especially in the agriculture sector of our economy. Those day famers depends on hole and knife for farming but today with technology, their depends on machines, tractors, chemical etc for farming which lead to increase in productivity.

How Technology has negatively impacted the world.

Here, at this point, I have listed out how technology has negatively impacted the world without explain them due to time. However, you can hit me up on the comment section if you're interested to know more.

Technology is very important to kids' lives most especially for kids that really knows how to make uses of technological devices. However, below are some of the positivity of technology in kids' lives.

Positive of Technology in kids' lives.

Enhanced Learning:
Technology enhanced the way kids learn things. For example the effects of mobile phones and internet are good example of how technology has positively effects kids lives. Kids make us of the internet to learn more faster than offline mode, because their can make research as much as their can.

Develops Future Technological Leaders:
The more kids are using technology that is how their will be thinking on several different skills as to come up with something useful. One of the positive of technology in kids' lives is that it help prepared kids about development and how their can come up with useful idea.

Problem Solver:
The more kids are getting expose to technology that is how they start becoming smarter in solving problem. I had previously discussed about Scratch in one of my post where kids can learn how to solve problems. Apart from scratch there is also a game called "survival mode" that do tasked kids on different activities to make decisions within some minutes.

Negative of Technology in kids' lives.

Reduces Quality of Sleep:
The rate at which kids takes their rest is very low. Kid's spend more time on social media platforms when their are supposed to take their rest as sleeping is very important for kids as its a good ways of promoting growth and others things like adding weight to their body.

Harmful to kids health:
As kids keep on spending more of their time on screen, it can affect they eyes. And also spending more time on mobile devices can stimulate health issues because their will not have time to do other physical activities.

Reduces social skills and relationship:
The more kids spend time using mobile devices that is the more they will lose value (i.e interest) for social skills, domestic work, even relationship with one another physically because they are more use to hello, whatsup, how far etc on social media.

Most kids that spent more of their time online chatting cannot communicate well when you get to meet them physically.

The impact of technology in kids' life is Highly positive. Nowadays, kids are very smart and sound when it comes to technology like TV and mobile devices their knows how to operate them better at home. Let's take a look at the image below.

Okay friend, from the image above, we can see how technology is highly positive in kids life. As I have earlier said, that one of the positive impact of technology in kids' lives is that it makes them to be smart, creative and problem solver.

The kids above has proof how smart their are and how their can solved problem in the future. The more kids are using technology, that is the more their are planing on developing things that will be of help to our society. You can imagine what the kids above have done using cartoon which means that their can become a good problem solver and engineers that can provide the world with better technologies.

Can you have control over the exposure of kids to certain technological products? How?"

Hmmm, kids nowadays are different from kids backed then that has respect for people. Kids in those days whatever you tell them to do or not to do, their will obey your command. Basically, I can control the exposure of kids to certain technological products like mobile devices when i discovered that the kids are using the product wrongly like watching of things that would be of no benefits to the kids.

In fact one of the best way to control the exposure of kids to certain technological products is to allow them not to have access to the products until their are mature enough. Allowing kids to have access to certain technological products that you don't want them to have isn't the best way out to control kids from such products because no matter how you try to control such kids their will still look for another alternative.
