Okra soup is a delicious farm fresh soup that is mostly cooked with vegetables, fresh pepper, and other ingredients which has been shared in this post. Adding green vegetables to okra soup always makes the face of the soup look yummy in the eyes of everyone who gets to look at the face of okra soup that has been cooked.

Both children and adults liked eating okra soup and is yh common soup that is found both in local and intercontinental restaurants. However, when eating okra soup that is mixed with ogbono you should be careful not to stain your look because the soup draws a lot. When cooking okra soup it is best that you use enough ingredients to cook it so you can enjoy it a lot.

Having said much, let's take a look at the available ingredients that I used in cooking the okra soup that I ate.

Ingredients

  • Meat (Beef)
  • Dry Fish
  • Crayfish
  • Fresh Okra
  • Ogbono
  • Vegetable leaf (Ugu)
  • Fresh pepper
  • Small onion
  • Maggi cube
  • Red oil
  • Salt to taste

Preparation

  • Cute/Slice the okra and keep aside. In my case, it has already been cut by the seller who sold it to me, since am not good at cutting okra or vegetable leaves.
  • Wash and slice vegetable leaves and keep aside.
  • Grind pepper and crayfish and keep aside.
  • Wash your meat very well, put it inside, and then add a seasoning cube to it.

Cooking direction

  • Put the meat (beef) inside your cooking pot add seasoning to it and cook for about 20 minutes.

  • Wash and add the dry fish or stockfish into the pot and cook for 5 minutes.

  • Add ground pepper, onions, crayfish, and a small quantity of water into the pot and allow it to boil well.

  • If you are to add ogbono, put it inside a plate and mix it with small red oil and add it, then cover and allow it to boil for some minutes.

  • After some minutes of adding ogbono, you can then add the okra and stir it very well. Taste to know if you are to add more salt or seasoning and allow it to cook for about 5 minutes.

  • Add vegetable leaf and allow it to simmer for 2 to 3 minutes for the okra soup to look yummy and thicker.

After you have finished cooking you can then serve the okra soup with hot Garri eba, fufu, semovita, Amala, or any swallow of your choice and eat to your satisfaction.
