Greetings to all the steemians in the house and in a very special way I welcome you all to this very season's engagement challenge. We are currently in week one of the season 3 engagement challenge and I am happy to present my entry regards the topic under review.
What were the dreams you had in childhood for the future.
In my childhood, I dreamt of becoming a soldier. I grew up in the barracks and for that reason, I'm always surrounded by the military. Most times I go to their training ground alongside my friends. They normally allow us to watch because they felt we have no sense of our own. I always admire them most during the parade when they match and flip their guns.
I never stay a day without going to the parade ground because I always like seeing how they perform this function. I was never taught of becoming anything again in life other than being a soldier and always as a child I dream of seeing myself in the military uniform matching.
Who supported you in that dreams.
I was seriously alone in this dream of mine because my father has already declared to us all that none of his children will join the army. Because of this statement, I have doubts about my dream most time and for that reason, I decided to start exploiting other options to see which will at least be a bit suitable for me. A lot of soldiers in the barracks also discouraged me because they always say the job is not what they were taught it is.
Which one of those dreams have you achieved.
I didn't achieve any of my dreams at all. I ended up at the university studying agriculture. I have never been taught about being agricultural in my life before as a matter of fact anytime I see people going to university to study agric, I feel they are wasting their time because farming can be done even without school. This is my initial thought. But when I got into the system, it was as if I was born to be an agriculturist.
Which one did you not achieve, What do you think went wrong?
I never ended up being a soldier and the reason is not far-fetched. Firstly, my father was strongly against my joining the army and the soldiers around also discouraged me as well. They normally tell me that the job is not the way I was taught it.
Conclusion
It is always rear or nearly impossible for anyone to become what he initially plans to be as a child. Most people are lucky enough whereas some are not lucky at all. My case is not an exception but I'm so happy with the field I find myself in. I want to invite @predomina, @jasminemary and @ruthjoe to join the contest.
Definitely, most people thinking all the time, that when they see you as a farmer, you look less, I understand you from this angle but there is more to being an agriculturist
I am now a farmer too but not a professional one, but at least I have the basic knowledge of planting maize cassava, and pepper.
You dream as a soldier then is not meant to be, you were just carried away by the activities you see every day which made you love the work. You dad must-have have reasons for restricting his children from beings a soldier, I also wanted to be a pilot but I could because of circumstances, some dreams are better left as dreams .
Greetings and blessings
Thank you for your comment. Its true that circumstance most times hinders us a lot.
You are welcome, of course there are obstacles in life
Do you still have passion to become a soldier, well if the passion is still very much alive, you can still pursue it alongside with agriculture. The knowledge from agric doesn't stop you from joining the force if you want to.
Maybe your father have fears but if you think you can explain well the reason why you would love to join now that you're mature then I think he will agree with you.
I believe with God on your side, nothing is unachievable. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your comment. I have lost the passion of being a soldier long time ago.

Thank you for the invite my dear..it's so difficult when you are alone in your life dreams and pursuits..
Waooh been a military what part of what I was eyeing back then because I grow up in a barracks but I got afraid at some point.
What you studied in the university is a very lucrative course. Best of luck to you.
Too bad your parents have limited your dream of being a soldier.
Although they were not your dreams, you managed to train professionally in the area of agriculture, and you have taken a great love for your work.
Successes in the contest.
