Hope everyone is fine. I am Monoara Begum from Bangladesh and my username is @jollymonoara. Engagement week is now underway and many communities have instructed us to participate in their challenges.

An engagement challenge contest is going on Steem kids & parents community and I will present my opinion here as a contestant. This week's engagement challenge with a beautiful theme is The most embarrassing moment of my life as a kid or parent.

We all live in a society but when we go along with everyone in the society sometimes for some reason we find ourselves in such a situation that we feel very shameful discomfort. Then I try to stay away from the surrounding people. After that, they feel very guilty when they think about that embarrassing situation. Then I ask myself why this happened and what people think about us on this matter.

We as parents feel that they are quite critical of us on this matter. Then they don't want to face each other anymore. I will share some of my embarrassing moments and memories with some of the tips given in the contest today.

So I will try to write each questing part of the engagement challenge step by step through this contest.

I often felt shamed for one reason or another. At that time the situation was such that one had to face various questions. The reason for that alarming situation is that-

When my elder son started walking at the age of 1 year, I almost saw him fall while walking. I thought he might have fallen because he looked so fat and healthy. Then I saw that his legs were slightly bent from the knees. Then a pediatrician saw the little boy.

He said the physiological problem will be fixed. When he crossed the age of two, I saw that the legs were getting more bent.

I am very worried why this is happening. And the people around would only say why the legs of these kids are like that, everyone was a little critical. I couldn't give any reason, just ashamed of their words.

Not only was I ashamed of my relatives, but my son could not sit with his legs folded, he would fall down while playing or running. His playmates did not take him to play. My son used to sit with his face in pain. I could not look at her innocent face. I was also in a lot of pain and I was praying to God to make my son's leg problems a little like normal children's feet. When everyone saw my son, he said that his legs were bent due to polio. My son and my family suffered a lot during those years.

Then I took my son to an orthopedic surgeon, his treatment and physical exercises, proper medicine and by the grace of Allah, today my son is completely fit and healthy.

I don't think I deserve to be embarrassed or that anyone else or any mother's son should.

Allah created man and Allah created many things for that man. We want to live a healthy and normal life. Then we get sick and it goes away. Allah has created disease, He has also made a cure for that disease.

Anyone can have physical problems, some are born dumb, some are blind and some are autistic. Never laugh at someone's weakness, don't hurt, show sympathy.

My son and I did not deserve the hardships he suffered as a child. Everyone should have loved and cared for him more which they didn't.

Even in art school, when he used to sit and do art, his teacher used to scold him, this boy can't sit well, sit properly. I used to be ashamed of his teacher's words and told him that he has a little problem with his legs so he can't sit normally.

In fact, none of us should embarrass anyone, we all have self-respect.

So that my son does not fall into this embarrassing situation, I have given him proper treatment.

The doctor just prescribed calcium tablets and some leg exercises. Continued with his advice within 4-5 years my son's leg went from crooked to straight.

I used to give milk, eggs and calcium tablets daily.

I used to exercise every day. And I used to wear a pair of shoes for walking. The pair of shoes were a little different, you can't walk alone. My son didn't like to play with others, so I was his playmate, playing cricket and hide and seek with him. And I kept lots of toys in the house that he could play with alone.

Finally I want to say that no parent wants their children to end up in an embarrassing situation. All parents want their children to be happy and healthy. Parents can never bear the pain of a child.
