I Love To Take Photos: Water for Life

Ever wondered why you still need water even after drinking a soft drink when you are thirsty. Well I have too.
Water is not only important to humans alone, but also to animals, plants and the ecosystem. The earth is made up of 71% of water and 29% land. This shows how important water is to the earth.

This post will not only address the importance of water to the ecosystem, humans and living organisms but also why we should protect and keep this water as pure as possible.

The importance of water has made the phrase ' water is life' to be generally accepted. The importances of water are enormous, that without water, the world will be brown and dead.

• It aids in digestion: After eating food, we drink water, which will make it easier for the digestion of food. It is well known that humans can survive without food for more than 20 days but can't survive without water for 3 days. Drinking water helps to dissolve minerals and food nutrients which will be easily accessed by the different parts of the body.

• It helps lubricate and keep the body fresh and moisturized. I am no doctor, but it is essential that we drink at least 8 cups of water a day.

• Water is known to regulate the body temperature. Drinking water does not only quench our thirst but also keeps the body system cool to avoid friction and way too high temperature.

Water is used to cook, bathe, wash, etc. We need water in all spheres of our daily living.

Though the earth is filled with 71% water, only 2% of this water is drinkable. This raises the question as to why we have this low percentage of drinkable water, when we have more water in the ecosystem. Sources of water include ocean, rivers, lakes, seas, streams, springs, and aquifers beneath the ground. The drinkable water in this part of the world is the one from the ground, and it is still not safe due to activities by humans here.
At home, mom boils our water before we drink to remove impurities or we buy treated water.

Just like we benefit from water, aquatic life, plants animals and other living organisms also enjoys these benefits. Over the years, water hasn't been safe for the ecosystem and this is as a result of different activities by man. Water bodies filled with garbage and spills from oil affects the aquatic life, oil spills on land affects plants and animals, which in turn affects humans directly. In all areas of life, water is needed and very important. It is important for us to protect our water bodies, drink clean water, and keep the garbage away from it.
Without water, the ecosystem will suffer significantly, that is why we need protect the fishes, animals and the plants. Water in the ecosystem is like blood in the human body, without it there is no life.
Water is Life!!!
