I Love To Take Photos - The Insect
Insects are small animals with six legs. Most insects have wings, while some don't. Some insects attack when they feel attacked, while some that don't attack have hard external skeletal system that protects them from danger.
Most humans see insects as pest or carriers of germs and diseases. Insects are believed to destroy plants like maize, rice, and millet. But the importance of Insects are enormous, that if it were to be discuss at length, it would form a thesis.
Some importances of insects are:
Pollination of plants, which in turn helps the plant to reproduce young ones
Some insects like bee, provide honey which could be used as food by humans.
Wax from bees are used for production of candle and lipsticks
Insects play important roles in agriculture And the food chain.

The Weevil |

The weevil is a type of beetle which is called a snout beetle. It has a horn called snout which is where it takes its name from. The weevil has wings but a significant number of weevils can't fly. There are different species of weevils but this one is particularly seen on bitter leaf.
Weevils are harmless to human beings even when eaten. They don't attack or bite too. Weevils are herbivorous in nature, which means that they eat plant.
It was easy to see this weevil because it is readily seen on bitter leaves. Well I think the weevil is a shy insect. It refused to walk or make a move due to my presence during the photoshoot.
The Dragon Fly |

The dragonfly is a flying insect known to be a predator. It takes accurate flight while engaging on its prey.
The reproduction process of the dragon fly is pretty stressful and funny. I studied about the reproductive process of dragonfly some time back and the stress they go through just to reproduce is much.
Since they are predators of other insect, they also feed on mosquitoes. Mosquitoes are known to cause dengue fever, malaria etc. Dragon flies feed mosquitoes thereby reducing their population which will in turn reduce the number of people getting sick.
They are not harmful to humans but can bite if they feel attacked. Their bite is not poisonous also.
I was quite surprise that this particular dragonfly waited throughout the photoshoot without taking flight.
The Stilt Legged Fly |

The stilt legged fly are microscopic insects, with tiny legs. They are mostly found in rain forest or tropical areas.
They feed on decayed plants and animals and are not harmful to humans, as they spread no diseases and they don't bite.
It was difficult taking a picture of this insect at a close range. So as not to endanger it in the course of taking pictures, I used the portrait function of my camera.
Insects are wonderful creatures and shouldn't be harmed. They are a balance to the food chain and also the ecology.
