Hello fellow kids lovers. It's a privilege to participate in this contest as it gives me the opportunity to speak my mind concerning this important topic. Before I forget, my appreciation goes to @steemkidss for organising this contest.

The home has more influence on a child than the school. Below are my points 👇

The Home

Home is a place where someone lives and where they have emotional attachment to. Family is usually a necessary part of a home. Family is a group of people within a society with common goals or dreams, common ancestry or filial relationships. It comprises of either one or two parents with their kids.

Home is the feeling that one has around the family. Family is the first institution known to mankind. It is the first place where a child receives instructions (education), values and morals. Early or ancient philosophers, scientists and inventors were schooled at home long before the advent of formal education.

Parents and other family members that make up a home are often selfless in training a child to become a better person due to their selfless love and care. Children needs love and affection from the family members because it goes a long way in shaping their minds about life. There's what we call "early child development" in Education.

It provides the building blocks for educational achievement, economic productivity, responsible citizenship, lifelong health, strong communities, and successful parenting of the next generation. Source

Charity they say, begins at home. This maxim is true regardless of your religion, race or color, geography, social status, etc. Home is the seat of all learning. It is where morals and etiquette are passed down from parents to children and to the subsequent generations. Not many people can afford to be in school whereas you don't pay a dime to be in a family. This goes a long way in shaping child's value system.

Dreams
Some people will agree with me that, the home or the family a child belongs to, have the ability to inspire the child to dream about becoming one thing or the other in the future. For instance, a child that is raised in a poor family will always dream of one day becoming rich so as to take away poverty from his/her family. It is from home that children often bore the dreams of becoming doctors, engineers, lawyers, accountants, politicians business owners, etc. They concieve the dreams at home, they refine it in school and eventually make it a reality in life.

Supports
Home offers psycho-emotional, financial, social, moral, material, educational, mental, health and security supports to a child unlike school which cannot offer many of the aforementioned supports. This makes the home a better place for molding and shaping child's character, and self-worth.

Real life story
Dr. Ben Carson has become so famous that I hardly could believe if there's anybody who knows how to read and write that does not know him (that's my limited thinking anyways). He and his brother (Timothy Carson) were raised by a single parent, Sonya, their mother. Little Ben attended school, yet school had little or no impact on his education and his life generally. Until his mum took a drastic action that rewrote their story.

Sonya taught them morals and homeschooled them. She placed them on a two-novels per week reading schedule. This approach took no time in changing the lives of The little Carsons. The teachers who couldn't help him at school and his fellows who often laughed at him because he knows nothing, were all amazed at his breakthrough academically. Young Ben has gone on to be the best neurosurgeon in the world; all thanks to his mum, his family, his home. The rest is a story for another day. I invite you to add his books Gifted Hands and Think Big 📚 to your reading list, from these books, you'll get an idea of how influential a home is in child's life.

In essence
Home is natural and selfless in their attitudes towards the child, unlike school where teachers are just hirelings. Their influence can be faked, distorted due to nonpayment of salaries and other reasons.

Home is the first institution for learning, school is secondary. Children spend more time at home than in schools as a consequence, it influences their life more.

There's no place like home, not even the best school in the world!
