Drawing challenge for week #7: Draw a lion

Hello everyone in steemkids community, hope you all are doing great. I am joining in this week's drawing challenge contest organized by our own @ngoenyi. This week contest is to draw a lion. Let me tell you a little about lions.

Describe a Lion?

A lion is known to be the king of all the animals possibly because of its wonderful strength. It can actually devour anything that comes in its way. The lion has very sharp canine teeth as well as very sharp jaws well created for pouncing and tearing apart its prey.

The Lion is not just a wild animal but also a carnivorous animal too. It has a very heavy fur around its neck. You see more life Lions in the jungle. Lions give birth to their young ones and that is why they are also mammals, and their young ones are called cubs. Lions appear mild when they are resting but you do not need to mistake such calmness because they are very aggressive in nature.

What qualities does a Lion posses?

A Lion has many nice qualities which I really appreciate. One is that a Lion does not eat dead animals. A Lion must hunt for its prey, in fact its like a game for the lion. A Lion is always ready to fight, that is why the lion enjoys challenges.

While Lions are known to be aggressive they are also compassionate about their young ones. That is why they can go to any length to protect their young ones, especially the male ones. A Lion is also a very brave and courageous animal. Nothing instills fear in a Lion.

Have you seen one before?

I have seen Lions more often while I watch cartoons. I have also seen a life Lion before and that is at the zoo. It's only at the zoo that one can see life Lions. This is because they are not domestic animals.

Are they important to man?

Because Lions are not domestic animals, they might appear not to benefit man. However there are some great lessons we can learn from the qualities they exhibit. They are never afraid of anything, never afraid of any challenge. They maintain high confidence in themselves and they do not give up easily give up.

These are very important qualities that we humans can cultivate as we face different challenges in life. Also, Lions are very brave, they show wisdom and strength in whatever they do, that is also something to learn from.

The following are the steps I took in drawing my lion.

Step 1

I drew the head of the lion first

Step 2

Then i drew the whole body but without the tail.

Step 3

Then i added the tail

Step 4

Then i designed the lion with my crayons
