INTRODUCTION

Good day everyone it's a pleasure to be able to write once again in this wonderful community. This time around I am writing to attempt the assignment questions given after a wonderful class on chemistry.

A great thanks to the steemkids community and it's members for always bringing up these types of educative activities which goes a long way in educating us on certain things we might not have been aware of.

I must say I'm proud to be a member of @steemkidss community.
Moving to the aim of my write-up beneath are the proposed answers to the assignment questions.

Questions

Who is the father of chemistry and state his works that he did which made him the father of modern chemistry.

• Firstly who is the father of chemistry?

Since ancient times,we have experimented with the materials around us to feed,clothe and shelter ourselves.
What started as satisfaction of our basic needs has now developed into the science of chemistry.

Chemistry is one of the three main branches of pure science,the other two being biology and physics is a study of the composition, properties,uses and the principles governing the the changes that matter undergoes.

Chemistry is considered to have several father's such as

1. JABIR IBN HAYYAN
   2)JORIES BERZELIUS
   3)JOHN DALTON
   4)ANTOINE-LAURET LAVOISIER

Considering the question "who is the father of chemistry",the answer is ANTOINE-LAURET LAVOISIER.

And from here the question "why is he said to be the father of chemistry arises.

REASONS:

1. He researched and assembled the first list of elements.
   2)Due to the researches he carried out he discovered and named oxygen and hydrogen.
   3)He helped in the advancement/elaboration of the metric system.
   4)He helped in the conformation of rules to generate structured names for chemical compounds to a standard form.
   5)He also discovered that even when the state/form of matter is changed the mass is still retained.
