Yesterday was Valentine's day and it concided with Saraswati Puja for hindus of India. So for girls from conservative families it was blessings in disguise. They could meet boyfriends with the plea that they are going to school or college. For rest of the couples they were upset as they lost one day. In one place the Puja theme was Valentine's day and they conducted couple event to pull crowd. The more a committee can pull crowd, the more they get sponsors in the next year.

As I told earlier Swaswsti is worshipped as goddess for Education and Music. Athena was considered as goddess of wisdom in Greece, in Misar civilization as Neith and likewise Nisaba in Sumerian civilization, Providentia in Roman civilization, Sophia in Postic civilization, Anahita in Persian civilization, Saga and Stotra in Norse civilization. Today also Saraswati is worshipped in different forms in the countries like Japan, Thailand and Indonesia.

In Hindu mythology there are 108 names of Saraswati according to subjects like Brahmi as godess of science, Bharati for history, Barneswari for letters (alphabet), Vagdevi for sentences etc.

Morning

My morning routine was as usual. I did my basic hygiene. in breakfast I had some fruits from Puja offering. I had my medicines. I wrote one post.

Afternoon
I took a shower. I had lunch at 1PM. Yesterday was vegitarian lunch. I forgot to take photo of food. I had one orange. I took a nap after finishing rest of the post. I had a cup of coffee at 4 PM. I went out.

I first visited a Puja pandal in the park and took a selfie.

In the above collage I tried to explain what is a Puja theme. In the wall the painting described the history of the place and the mandap (sanctorum where the idol sits) decorated with local crafts. The image should also go along with the contents in totality. Actually mobile camera couldn't capture the face of image due to the spot light on the face. This Puja is held by a private tutor in his housing complex. He has spent a lot but in the coming years he will get some sponsors support.

I also visited many places including one school and a club.

As per the religious convention, we are not supposed to read, write, practice or play on the day but I found some boys were playing cricket and football.

I visited a temple in the locality which is a branch with replica of the original Adapith Temple near North of Kolkata. They perform many social activities apart from religious activities.

A rare bronze statue of Baba Loknath a great devotee of Shiva is found In the above left.

In three storey statues Radhakrishna Couple appears on the top and Addya maa in the middle and Ramakrishna a great devotee of Maa at the bottom are seen. It was almost dark. Climate was pleasant to walk. I returned home.

Night

I had another cup of tea without sugar. I spend some time watching TV. I had Roti and Sabji in the dinner. I had my medicines before bedtime.
