SEC17 WK:#3: large and small families, likes and dislikes

The family unit in Nigeria is mostly broad, as a man can have up to 5 wives and 50 children, this was most common amongst kings who were free to have more than 1 wife, I saw nothing wrong at the area of provision and care because they're capable and can provide what those children need. Nigeria has a very high population, the number of birth rate in a month is very large and that's just a recorded number in hospitals, not including births from midwives.
A smaller family unit is easily controlled by the parents and also the society, having a very large members of the nuclear family will mean more work, you have to work extra to provide food and care for all of them, failure to do such often results in a bad upbringing of the child which in turn affects the society.
A family is the smallest unit of the society, which is a group of people related by blood, marriage or adoption. As we would be more focused on a nuclear family which consists of a Father, mother and the children. The nuclear family is just an immediate family which doesn't link up to relatives and even grandchildren.
A large nuclear family which consist of more family members and a small nuclear family has it's likes and dislikes, which if we were asked to choose we would choose any, I would love to make a clarification and then make my choice.
This is a large nuclear family which consist of the father, the wife(ves) and the children. The number of children In this family Is always close to 10 or more than. This type of family is very common among kings and mostly practiced in the North where a man has more than two wives with lots of children. The level of care provided might not be enough and in turn affects the society of these children are not controlled.
Likes
Support: Friends come and go but families stay. The joy parents gain when there are fully backed by their children, now let's look at not just two children but upto 10 and more coming up to back up their parents, it will look like it's a whole community. The family has a lot of confidence because they know they will have support even if it's 60% it is enough.
Relief: once these kids grow up, the parents experience freedom from work and stress, because these children in all areas will support them through food, care and also help them with the farm work they were engaged with.
Dislikes
Lack of control: you can't have a good control over a large number of people, one or two persons will go wayward. This happens alot in families when parents are not able to control them they become a lot of problem to the society, they go on to become a thing of trouble to other families and end up being wayward.
inadequate care: it will be a tough task for the parents to take good care of their children, as they can't feed them with three square meals daily due to how numerous they are. The care given to them won't be enough
This is a small unit of nuclear family which includes the parents with the children not more than 6 and mostly one wife. This kind of family has an easy control over members of the family and they're being watched closely. A child's waywardness is this unit of family is blamed on the parents because they have all capacity to correct them.
Likes
control: The parents have full control over the affairs in this unit and they seem to guide their children to the right part. They discipline their children when they're wrong and they know how well to correct them.
Care: They provide full care to the family due to the less number of people in the family and they experience great love amongst themselves due to how close everyone seems to be.
Love: One family, one love. They seem very close and the love amongst them is so great not comparing to the large family, as they as separate people from different families due to how Many there are.
Dislikes
less support: compared to the support given by the large family, any form of disagreement in the small family can lead to separation.
loss of confidence: once the child becomes wayward the parents don't have that confidence anymore, as they have no other child to use as comfort.
From my view between these two families I would gladly choose the small family which there will be much love, and unity amongst us and there will be high control and care in the family.

In your post you clearly made it stated that you love a small family as it will make parents to be able to care for the child and give their full attention to the child.

Hello, wow a king with so many wives, the advantage of being one haha, of course he can have that luxury, I think just like you, in fact I can attest because my nuclear family is small that it is more convenient in terms of upbringing, food and general expenses.
The biggest disadvantage is that since there are few of them, in the event of an emergency they do not have the support of other siblings, for example, but I think this is compensated by the fact that as they grow up they become adults prepared to bravely face whatever comes their way.
Of course, apart from the love relationship, there is also a blood relationship, which is according to me. Be it a big family or a small family, family is the only thing that stays with us till death and there is so much love and sincerity in them that I have ever seen at this age.
