Who is responsible for caring for and serving elderly parents?
In my opinion, the first person responsible for caring for elderly parents is their child, because the child knows what their parents want and what their parents' condition is at that time. This is also a form of gratitude for their parents who have cared for us as children from childhood to adulthood. I myself want to take good care of my parents when they are old one day.
However, I have also thought about this, when I am old, I don't want my child to take care of me, because I feel that if my child is too focused on taking care of me in my old age, then he will abandon his responsibility to his new family. When I am old, I want to hire someone else to take care of me even though I live with my children, but I want my child to remain focused on his life and continue to make his family happy. I don't want to be a burden to him, so that I, my child and the small family he is building can continue to live happily with each other without causing each other trouble.
What should be the attitude towards elderly parents in society?
Society must prioritize the elderly, and younger people must always give way to the elderly, because the elderly are not physically stronger than them, for example when there is a queue or when sitting in a public place, we should prioritize the elderly, this is what society must do so that the elderly can live more comfortably.
How can the dignity and security of the elderly be guaranteed in society?
Society must be aware that the elderly must be prioritized and put first, we must educate every society to be willing to pay attention to the elderly, this will of course make society willing to guarantee the dignity and security of the elderly, because without providing good education, there will be many people who cannot respect the elderly.
What steps should be taken to protect the mental and physical health of the elderly?
As a good society, we must pay attention to every elderly person around us, we should not be rude to elderly people, we must respect their opinions because their life experiences are much more than ours, by listening to their opinions it will make their mental health better.
We must also help our parents in physical activities so that the elderly's physical health can continue to be well maintained.
