Greetings to my fellow steemians, hope all is well and you are doing great. I am @hayleydemi from Nigeria and I would like to appreciate @mesola a very hardworking and successful steemians for bringing up such a contest which allows one to make and create beautiful and wonderful things, craft, artwork and many others. Stay tuned as I discuss how I made a very beautiful craft of my own.


Craft can be defined as the art of making new things from all sorts of materials in a skillful and artistic way. One features of craft is that it involves many materials to perform such and it involves a high degree of hands in craftsmanship and the application of different techniques rather than machines or the use of technology to perform it. Craft is composed on many types depending on the type of material used. The first type is the textile craft which includes embroidery, crocheting, weaving, knitting, felt making and tapestry art etc. the second type of craft is known as the woodcrafts which includes furniture making, cabinet making, and wood turning, the third type of craft is called paper craft and it can be used to make collages, paper origami, paper mache and modelling of paper, Pottery and glass craft is the fourth type of craft that includes glass - beads making, glass blowing, mosaic art and glass etching. The last type of craft is called jewellery and it includes enamel works, engraving and decorations.

The craft that I made may have fallen under the paper craft because it involves combining many materials to form a beautiful portrait and I will be sharing the steps with you guys on how I achieved this wonderful craft. First of all the material I used in creating this artwork include

1 carton paper


2 pieces of materials


3 scissors


4 gum


5 Pencils


6 a white portrait

STEPS INVOLVED IN ACHIEVING THE CRAFT

step 1

Like I said earlier get your materials ready. After getting all the material you need, draw the image you want to use in a carton paper and cut it off exactly the shape you drew.

step 2

After doing that place the image in which you cut on the white portrait and trace it on the portrait paper.

step 3

After carefully tracing it on the white portrait, get your materials and start cutting them into small pieces so that you can gum them on the image drawn on the portrait paper.

step 4

Carefully gum the pieces of materials on the white portrait paper and ensure that you get the shape of the image and also do not cover the face of the image.

After doing all that, colour the face of the image in the portrait paper with either crayon, marker or you can even colour it with pencil just as I did.

After colouring it, you then find a black marker or a dark pencil to outline the craft. As for me I used pencil to do it

This is my final result and a selfie of me with it after doing all these following steps.

This craft is one of the best and good craft I have ever done and I am proud of doing it.
