How To Prepare Melon (Egusi) Soup || by @guttaboy

Greetings to everyone and all the lovely kids in this nice community. I'll be teaching us all how to prepare melon (egusi) soup in the week 26 of food challenge. Please have a good time learning and leave a nice comment.

Ingredients Required

Grounded Melon (2 cups)
Periwinkle/ Isam (2 cups)
Cube season (Add to taste)
Sliced Onions ( This is optional)
Salt (Add to taste)
1/4 liter of palm oil
Bitter leaf
Ground crayfish (Add to taste)
Fresh Pepper
Kanda/ Meat (Whichever is desired)
Thickener (ofor)

Melon mixed with water, to form paste
Seasoning cubes, grounded crayfish, kitchen glory and Thickener
Palm oil
Sliced onion
Salt
Sliced kanda meat
Bitterleaf
Fresh pepper

Periwinkle (Isam)

Proceeding To The Cooking

• Step 1: Pour in your oil, and allow to heat for at least 1minute.

• Step 2: Pour in your melon paste and the sliced onion. Stir and allow to fry for at least 3minutes. Continuously stir while frying to avoid burning.

• Step 3: Pour in your Kanda/Meat or fish and continue to stir for at least 1minute

• Step 4: Pour in water as you desire, depending on the qauntity of your thickner. Cover the pot and the content to cook for at least 7 minutes (depending on your cooker).

•Step 5: Add your seasoning cubes, crayfish, already grinded pepper, salt and periwinkle to taste. Cover the pot and allow content to cook for another 10 minutes.

• Step 6: Add your thicker. Cover the pot and allow the content to cook for another 10 minutes.

• Step 7: Put in your bitterleaf and allow cook for another 5 minutes.

• Step 8: After allowing to cook for 5 minutes, your soup is ready. Turn off your cooker and bring pot down. Soup can be served with garri or fufu.

Wow, your soup looks so yummy. Thank you for sharing the steps in details with us. Melon is a very common soup to us in Nigeria and literally everyone can eat melon soup.
