Goodybest Diary: Saturday 13th July 2024: Attending The Wedding Ceremony Of My Family Friend.

Dear Diary,

Last Saturday was a beautiful weekend for me! I attended the wedding of a family friend in my village, and it was an amazing experience. Love is indeed a beautiful thing; it knows no bounds and age. Everything was perfectly well-organized, and both the bride and groom looked simple but stunning! Though it was raining heavily in the morning, it was a sign of blessings.

I woke up early that day and called my brother to come pick us up because my husband had gone out early. It started to rain heavily around 6:45 AM. I bathed the kids, took a shower, packed a few dresses and some stuff for my parents, and we had bread and tea for breakfast. My brother came around 8:15 AM, and we all got ready and left for the village.

My parents were delighted to see us, especially their grandchildren. I immediately changed and entered the kitchen to prepare delicious rice and beans for everyone, it's been a while since I cooked with firewood, and my little princess was delighted to see 🔥 fire. The wedding took place at our village kingdom hall and it began at 1:00 PM. After lunch, we prepared and left for the wedding.

It was a simple wedding surrounded by relatives and friends. The groom arrived at the venue first, followed by his bride who elegantly walked down the aisle, escorted by her proud and emotional father.

The ceremony began with an opening song and prayer and a touching, informative, and educative wedding discourse. The speaker was so eloquent and in a nutshell, the husband was admonished to love his wife as himself and be ready to die for her. The wife, on the other hand, was admonished to give deep respect to her husband, and most importantly, they should make Jehovah the originator of marriage their third cord.

The speaker ended the discourse with a heartfelt prayer, and everyone in the audience finally joined voices and sang a beautiful song about marriage, entitled What God Has Yoked Together.

The atmosphere was filled with love, laughter & joy and it reminded me of my wedding day. The couple exchanged their vows with heartfelt passion. I found myself becoming emotional as I watched the love that existed between them, and it was simply beautiful. After the ceremony, we mingled, my husband had arrived before now, and I was able to greet and congratulate the happy couple and give them my little present 🎁.

The reception was held in a nearby hall, but my husband and I couldn't attend, we left because it was 4:00 PM. I was told by my lovely Mom who attended that everything went well there too. The meal was sumptuous, accompanied by soft drinks and wine, the couple shared their love story, which mesmerized a lot of people, and then the dance floor was opened for everyone to rejoice with the couple.

My village is not far from my home; it was a 15-minute drive. When we got home, I showered and rested because I had a serious migraine, while the kids watched cartoons. When I got up around 9 PM, the migraine still persisted, so I took paracetamol and had coffee for dinner.

The wedding was a huge success; the couple carefully planned it well. I had so much fun and enjoyed every moment of it. It was a special experience, and this one was unique in its own way. I wish the couple a happy marriage that will endure the test of time. I am so happy that I got a chance to witness the newly founded love and joy between the couple, and I can’t wait to attend another one soon😂😜.
