SEASONAL CHANGES

In Nigeria there are two major seasons; The Wet Season and The Dry Season

THE WET SEASON:

The wet season starts between the month of March and September and during this time interval, there is a lot of rainfall and the weather will be cooler and windy.

THE DRY SEASON:

The dry season starts between the month of October and February, during this period, there will be a lot of heat and the weather will be very hot and dry.
Note: there is a special period between the month of December and February in which the weather will be very hot and dry during the day time and very cold in the night time and in the morning, this period is known as harmattan period

The revolution of the Earth round the sun causes all this seasonal changes and it revolves from the East to West.

ECLIPSES

There are two types of eclipses namely; the eclipse of the sun or solar eclipse and the eclipse of the moon or lunar eclipse.

The Solar Eclipse:

This is the type of eclipse that occurs when the moon comes in between the Sun and the Earth.

The Lunar Eclipse:

This is the type of eclipse that occurs when the Earth comes in between the sun and the moon.

SOURCES OF ENERGY AND LIGHT

The sun is majorly the source of energy and light.
It is like a very big ball of burning gases.
It's distance from the Earth is about 150 million kilometers.
The day becomes bright as the sun rises from the East and this shows that the sun is a source of light.
The light travels through space and it's Ray's reaches the Earth through radiation which in turn heats the Earth.
