Grassroot Crypto Education (Vol. 1) | Participation Summary: Basics of Cryptocurrency | 10% Payout to @steemkidss
Introduction
A few days ago, we started crypto education in the grassroots which kick-started with the basics of cryptocurrency. Thanks to @steemkidss for thinking about this kind of initiative to get Steem kids involved in cryptocurrency even right from the tender age of 13 and many thanks to the Steemit team for their support towards the development. I will be using this article to make a summary of how things went in the first volume.

Overview of Grassroot Crypto Education (Vol.1)
It is important to begin the kid's crypto education from what cryptocurrency means, this is considered to be the basics to be taught before we can think of exposing them to the real technology behind this type of currency and other things they are required to know in the ecosystem. As such, we kick-started with the basics of cryptocurrency, the meaning, how it differs from other conventional currencies, some of its characteristics, and so on.
Having exposed the kids to these basics, a little homework task was attached, made to be soft to suit their level at the moment. If you miss that lecture, you can take a look at it here. With the entries received, it's evident that the participants have learned something and the aim of the initiative is becoming reality gradually giving these kids a background to the concept of cryptocurrency.
Observations
Larger percentage of participants did well in terms of proper analysis at least it's made satisfactorily for their level and it's impressive. Likewise, the originality of the content received is so on point and just an infinitesimal proportion of the participants failed in that realm. That said, some of the kids still have to work on using proper markdown, likewise, some articles also requires proofreading to generally improve the structure of their content, I have adequately corrected most of the kids on their respective articles and I hope to see them doing better next time.
Participation in the Homework Task
The homework task entries run for 7 complete days and in the end, a total of 7 articles was received. Amongst the entries received, one was found to be plagiarized and one was invalid. Let's see the table of participation in the order of submission.

From the table above, @rhema01 is found to have plagiarized by direct copy and paste from the Internet while @jespy is not a verified kid in the community, in short, the user doesn't fall within the category considered for this initiative. Conclusion
It's great pleasure to present the lecture and also review the task entries from verified kids in this community. I can boldly recommend those graded participants for the entry level at the Steemit Crypto Academy , they have started well while we have some of them that haven't hit the requirement for participation in the academy, I believe in the next few weeks, they would be qualified.
In the next volumes of the grassroot crypto education, the students would be taught some other basic things in preparation for their journey into the crypto academy proper. In addition, I hope to see more entries next week as other kids would have seen how beneficial it is to take part in the lecture and homework task. Thanks to everyone.

You have done noble reviewing all the entries.
We have also noted the areas the kids need to work on that you pointed out especially with regards to proper markdown styles and proofreading. In the next few hours or day,@ngoenyi will begin a series of markdown styles lessons that will explain some basic markdown styles in a way that the kids will grasp.
Our desire is to ensure that these kids get the most out of their experiences here and thus join the Steemitcryptoacademy and of course, with your help.
As for plagiarism, we will try our best to educate them on that.
The participation will surely increase even though most of them are in school. But we hope that with these summary, they will try to squeeze out time for the upcoming volumes.
