Atlast, the long awaited day is here. The Imo State Football Referee Council had scheduled today being Saturday,6th July 2024 for some council activities.

General Council Keep Fit Program

The first activity is the general council keep fit exercise that comes up every first Saturday of the month at Dan Anyiam stadium Owerri. The different Referee societies in the state are to assemble their members for training by the state training department.

Lectures for Exam candidates

After the training, a brief lectures on the laws of the game was conducted for Referees who will be writing promotional exams coming up next month. The training department headed by the State training officer, Mr Franklin Aguguesi, encouraged the candidates to be available both in the online training and physical meetings organized by the state.

Unveiling of Council Jersey

The third program for the day was the unveiling of the State training jersey. These jerseys are to be worn only during the council general training or when members from the council travel to participate in the annual Fitness test. It was unveiled by the council state chairman, Mr Okoro Chrisantus.

Football Match

The Fourth program for the day was the football match between two different groups of referee grades in the council. The Referees who got Grade 1 from 2018 downwards (Seniors) Vs Referee who got Grade 1 from 2019upwards (Juniors).
It was a fantastic game and very entertaining. The match ended successfully with a 0:0 scoreline.

Entertainment

The final and most important program of the day is the entertainment. Assorted drinks was made available for everyone with a plate of white rice with goat meat pepper soup.
