- They are the basic quantities
- They are independent
- They are only seven
- Eg mass, length
Derived quantities
- They are the derived quantity
- They depends on other quantities
- Eg velocity, volume

Vector
- It has magnitude with a particular direction
- It can be two or more dimensions
- Eg are mass, length

- It has one dimensions
- Eg are velocity, polarization
