Hello everyone, am happy to participate in this contest. My favorite hobby is reading, writing and cooking. Well let me display my talent. I love cooking alot. Infact, in school I scored A1 in food & nutrition Well here is what I want to prepare

This is called African salad .... It is also known as Abacha. It is a food originated from the Igbo's in the eastern region of Nigeria. It is commonly eaten as lunch but can be virtually taken anytime you need it.
Here are the ingredients used in the preparation of African salad 🥗.

Palm oilMaggi
Utasi leafSalt
FishMeat
Onionpepper 🌶️

This is Abacha In it dried form
If possible, buy the dried form of Abacha. But if you can't find it in the vicinity that you are leaving it is possible to do it at home. Just get some cassava, boil it, slice t them wash out the starch. If you wish you can dry it. But it is sweeter when it is fresh.
Here are the procedure for preparing African salad

  • Put the wet Abacha in a basket for the water to drain off

  • Slice onion, garden egg , pepper and utasi in a different plate separately.
  • Cook Ugba/akpaka

  • Cook the meat very well with your desired seasoning.
  • Fry your fish .
  • Prepare the ngu ready
  • Put the fresh Abacha
  • Add grounded pepper and mix well

  • Then add Maggie and salt and turn it well (If possible, it is best you use your hand if you really want to get it well).
  • Then add the ngu into it and turn well.

  • Add palm oil to make it More brigher .
  • Then taste it to check of it is sweet.
  • If yes, scoop out the quantity you need in a plate.
  • Spread some crayfish on it.
  • Then you can now add onion, garden egg and utasi.

  • Use (meat) , fish and Ugba to garnish it well.
    Your African salad is ready to be served.
